Watching Devonta atm...For a guy that probably weighs around 165 lbs, this dude has a giant set of balls. He works the middle with zero fear. The way he carries his speed through breaks is crazy. If you're not being physical with him from the snap, he's basically unguardable if given space.

It's hard not to love the guy. Just based on his tape, he's one of the safest picks in the draft. But he's still around 165 lbs. I don't know how you reconcile that given the tiny track record of dudes that size.

Come on Hero, forget the size, this guy is special. You can't get physical off the line with him as he'll cook you with his footwork and short area quicks.

I have him rated as my #4 overall prospect in this class, only Kyle Pitts, or a QB I like could make me pass, and that's even though if its not him I probably wouldn't draft a WR until the 4th.
I don't know...we literally have zero historical precedent for success for a WR his size that I can think of; I just can't look past it.

Everything I see does tell me, though, that he will be fine. But I don't see how he is a better prospect than Waddle

Marvin Harrison and Issac Bruce are the guys I can think of that were successful and close to that build. They also played during the era that they let the defense play more compared to now where it's all tailored to the offense. I would take Chase and Waddle before Smith tho, Waddle would be ridiculous with Kyle

The rumor is Devonta is in the upper 160's, so both of those guys have around 10-20 lbs on Devonta.

Each had at least 15 lbs on Smith, and Smith is working with the cream of the crop when it comes to college level strength and conditioning (and steroids)

The dude looks like he's running on two celery sticks for legs.

Precedents are made to be set.

I struggle with Waddle, his speed and burst are unreal, but people say they worry about Smith being pressed, I worry a lot more with Waddle.

Smith is just a much more nuanced receiver, Waddle has great potential but I go with Devonta.

I guess there is precedent. One guy lol.

Just imagine being 170 lbs and taking a hit like this. N'Keal is 230 lbs, and it still rung his bell. But without the upper body mass to protect his spine and neck, it might've been horrific. This type of hit could literally kill Devonta.

According to what I've found on the web, Harrison was 179 lbs coming out of college. So he had ~10 lbs on Devonta.

To clarify, the weight nothing to do with ability for me. I have no doubt he'll be a beast even at 170 lbs. I'm concerned with his body holding up. Yes, it'll be hard to line up a clean shot on him, but it's just a matter of time before someone does.
Dude is going to drop because of the weight issue. Pitts, Chase and Waddle will go before

i think so too. no way he goes top 10 at 170. people will think of John Ross, or Desean Jackson and fear he wont stay healthy. He'd be a snag at 12.

Yeah definitely a chance at #12. It would be hard to say no but he seriously needs to beef up a bit. I mean im a pretty fit guy at 5'10 168 and I cant imagine taking an NFL hit. I'll die haha. Smith is even slimmer than I am. Desean Jackson is the only guy I can think of that played close to that weight

Is he a NFL player or not? I ssuem durability concerns? Do people think hes like a 3rd and long only guy?

He is definitely an NFL player but his size makes him a much bigger bust risk. Getting hit by NFL DBs could put a lot of wear n tear on his body and we could end up with another player collecting checks from the IR. But he is elusive AF and a homerun hitter so he may do a good job of avoiding contact. Desean Jackson barely started to wear down a couple of years ago so theres hope. Shanahan would just have to limit his mid-field catches, but thats why we got Kittle and Deebo who live in the middle of the field.
