We will bring back Verrett don't worry

Prefer to trade back and grab Horn and trade back up in the 1st to grab Ojulari/Patrick Jones.

Pass rush needed even more to deal with these QBs.

I say don't risk it and take Ojulari at 12 and grab Newsome or Taylor in the 2nd

I am still in the camp of taking Lance if he is there at 12 and letting him sit and learn for a year under JG. My hope really is Slater or Lance. I am just saying that Surtain would have to be in consideration given our CB situation.

Well going off our history we do not prioritize CBs in this D. I don't think Slater or Sewell get out of the top 10.

But we did more man this season. I think avaliable talent dictates a lot.

Yeah but when the option of fixing the edge position or CB position I feel like this FO will go for the edge over CB every time. Unless John actually thinks Ford will play
want!

Best CB in the draft... not even close. This is the must pick IMO if he's there. Watch him play the last two years and he's legit. He's only gotten better as the years went on.

Solid player and his pops has been a huge influence in his life as well. Can't go wrong with this pick.

I think Caleb Farley might have something to say about this.

Not from what I saw. He's more of a FS IMO. He's barely played the position as well and didn't see much of a jump in growth this year between last but then again we're talking about a covid year

He opted out this year. That may explain why you didn't see a jump. The year he played if quarterbacks just spiked the ball rather than throw against him they would have a better passer rating.

Yes sir!! I greatly misspoke there even more of a reason I would pass. He's barely played this position in his short football career... therefore I wouldn't want a raw project to work with. Give me Surtain for the daily double

So you did or did not watch Farley?

I don't either, but hoping they do. I'm on the Slater train but if he's gone, I'd be thrilled with Ojulari, or even Surtain if available.
Still surprising this thread hasn't gotten more attention. I know we signed Verrett, but it's only a year and well...there's a reason the deal is only for a year. Surtain would be a GREAT pick if we pass on Slater. If we did draft Surtain and brought Williams back, I'd say corner was a position of strength. A couple guys that could play the slot and a couple of guys that can play outside. Gets back to our tradition of having a high quality secondary. Our pass rush also may not be as dominant as 2019, but that kind of lineup at corner would lead to more coverage sacks.
Surtain is like the Mac Jones of CB prospects, doesn't wow you with his tools, but has plenty of technique and skills.

He's solid, to be fair you can do much worse than solid, but for me a top 15 pick is for adding studs, guys with skill & tools, guys that can dominate in the league, if we're talking CB's that's Farley.

Too many want to settle for good here, why don't we want great?

Agreed. It's just the M.O of a lot of these Bama guys..they're ready for the NFL, but are also maxed out most of the time.

I'd much rather look at the elite tools/traits of Farley if they even sniff CB at 12....which I don't think they will be.

I don't think they're maxxed out, I think it's more that they've had such great coaching that they might not see the jump others do when they get better coaching in the league.
