But anyway, Moore doesn't look quite as fast as Hill, but he does seem to have a similar level of control, so I can see why some are reminded of Hill.

Jerry Rice would run a 4.3 with the amount of training specificity these guys do nowadays. Some of these guys now are dialing in their technique so well on some drills(ex: 40-yard dash) that their time doesn't match their speed on tape.

I think that was the issue with Kevin White.

But it's not always like that. DK Metcalf seems to be as fast on the field as his 40 time.

Metcalf has classic straight line speed and guys like Jerry can carry their speed through changes in direction. Tyreek Hill will demonstrate tomorrow

When you start comparing guys that fast you are talking about hundredths of a second. The difference between 4.25 and 4.27. This is really nothing on the football field. It's really about getting off the line and shedding your coverage. When you get doubled the speed can get nullified so technique comes into play. It was just last year that everyone was all excited over Ruggs and his great speed. He barely did anything this year. Obviously, Mostert and Breida aren't receivers but they have both been clocked at the highest speeds in the league
Speed is great but it has to be combined with skill and it has to be controlled. Some of these fast guys just run as fast as they can and don't have that next gear to put the moves on the defender. Hill has that ability and that's what really makes him dangerous. . Not just the speed.

By the way, before people start saying he's the fastest player to ever step on a football field I think they are forgetting Olypic champion sprinters like Ray Norton, Bob Hayes and Renaldo Nehemiah. Dion Sanders in his prime was a blur.

True, speed alone ins't the key. Barry Sanders wasn't very fast. The really great ones have quickness and acceleration. Barry Sanders and Tyreek Hill etc go from 0-60 full speed in two steps leaving their defenders behind.
Rueter's 3 round mock has Elijah going in the 3rd towards the end. Hope he keeps going through the cracks. Would be ideal to get this kid in a 3rd round trade up

Holy f**k, I was just about to post this. I didn't know the Moore fans and Toney fans had beef lol.

But god damn, Moore's COD is filthy. Now that looks like a young Antonio Brown. 👀 I think Moore is my first draft crush. 👀

Doesn't always translate to game day, but I think he is a better prospect and much more natural pass catcher than toney

Tell me if this is wrong, but Toney seems like a better or more-willing blocker than Elijah Moore. I need to go back and revisit this with Moore because I forgot to focus on this aspect of his game, but I know Toney is a VERY physical and willing blocker. This is a big factor for our offense. Kyle puts a huge emphasis on WR blocking. If you don't block, you ain't playing.

Simply put, if you don't block, you're not getting drafted by the 49ers in 2021.

Glad you emphasized 2021 because this same regime drafted Dante Pettis and Trent Taylor. Then again Aiyuk was no world beater blocking in college, willing though

You're not wrong, and I don't know if Moore will ever be a great blocker at 5'9" 180

Yes, that's exactly why this emphasis is important. The front office clearly learned their lesson with those guys. Aiyuk is a very willing blocker. Look at the guys they've brought in since they learned from their mistakes with guys like Pettis:

-Deebo(most physical WR in the game)
-Hurd(physical/blocked so hard he made Ahkello and the DBs cry in camp)
-Aiyuk(willing blocker)
-Jennings(another physical savage)

This is also my theory why KB gets all the slot snaps over Richie James. KB is a very willing blocker. Richie James can't block a fly.

You don't need to be a great blocker, but you need to be willing.

Elijah Moore was the best route runner coming out of high school in this 1-on-1 at the Opening in 2017, and this is competing against some of the top players(WRs & DBs) in this draft class. Not surprised if he ends up being one of the best WR in this class.
Most underrated WR in this draft class. Dude looks like a stud to me

Would be a lot of early draft capital invested in the position over the last 3 years (not even going to throw Pettis in it since he's not on the team) but I feel like a real speed burner in the slot like this is the final thing we need at WR.

Deebo
Aiyuk
Moore
Hurd
Kittle

Would be insane. Even though Pettis was a miss, think of how far our WR room has came from 2016/2017.
