Jaelon Darden-WR-North Texas

Undersized but very explosive slot receiver with solid route running ability and pretty good hands from everything I've seen. Coming from Jeff Wilson's alma mater, he's someone that could add some real speed to the 49ers receiving corps. Yet another YAC machine that is dynamite in the open field.

I would love to have with our comp or 4th rounder.

At least that's where he's been going in all mocks I do

Could be used same way we use Deebo while also being a deep threat. Would be perfect 3rd WR
IMO.

D'Wayne Eskridge would be nice consolation prize

Best explosion and change of direction in the class imo, and unlike the tutu atwells and kj Hamlers of the world, he can actually catch. I do think he goes round 5 or 6, like Darnell Mooney last year. A 5'9" 170 lb receiver from a small school does not a mid round pick make.

Dee Eskridge goes 2 rounds earlier imo. Has 20 lbs on darden, was already high on scouts radar (rather than twitter) before showing out at the senior bowl vs good competition and directly in front of teams

How's his blocking? I feel like that's what prevented Richie James from getting any snaps other than when we had a ton of injuries.

I've noticed that all the WRs drafted in the last 2 years (Deebo, Aiyuk, Hurd, Jennings) had these common traits:
-YAC
-Tackle breakers
-Willing Blockers
We need one more piece like this to complete our WR group.

I think this kid will go much earlier than people think. Maybe top of the 3rd to late second round. He might be out of reach but if he's not... he's definitely a player we should be targeting.

I'd be shocked if he goes before the late 3rd when you look at all the receivers out there. I see him as a late 3rd to a mid 4th rounder.

Looks like another Richie James... interesting..

I'd be interested in any but 1 if they fall to the 4th, only one idk about is Cade Johnson.
Love the player. Like I said before, this year is like slot receiver heaven. We would be downright asinine to not tap into this pool. I'd draft up to two receivers honestly. Bourne is not bad but still replacable. Hurd can't get on the field. Richie? Just lol.

We should get 3 new receivers this off season in my opinion. Replace KB, TT, James, and plan for Hurd to probably not see the field or even be the same guy. Samuel is a health concern, and Jennings wasn't healthy enough to get called up either.
Thought the 40 would be a little faster but man he's so stinking quick 👀

those are better agility scores than Tyler Lockett
Love this quote...

"Making someone miss is like waking up in the morning and brushing my teeth…I gotta do it every day."

There's some really quality slot WRs in this class. Time to give up on Trent Taylor and get ourselves a scary 3 WR set
Yeesh, sub 4 shuttle
