Its not like your average 6th or 7th round pick is going to turn out to be an impact player usually but for this offense, if you can lock up the specific RB prospect you like, that would be well worth it.

I think competing for them is fine if you have the cap space. Most free agents will go to the highest bidder (but not always) and usually undrafteds aren't going to cost you millions like the drafted ones.

Kyle has drafted RBs in the past. Joe Williams comes to mind.
I would love to see Etienne fall to us in the 2nd.

Mmm, I think I would rather see the 2nd used on Edge or corner. I am ok with a lower pick at rb. And whilst Etienne would be really good, you can't have stars at every position. So as the team seem to be able to fill the running back position with UDFAs, so be it.

I think im the only one that thinks CJ Marable could be a major sleeper for the 49ers.

You are probably right, maybe even o-line if a good one falls, but its a sexy pick. I think he's a perfect fit and would solidify RB for years. Mostert is decent, but i think his contract is also up after this year? But yes, we have many needs and need to prioritize. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets took him with their second 1st.
Najee Harris is so good.

Kenneth Gainwell gets my vote. He decided to bypass the covid season in an attempt to keep his miles low and not diminish his draft stock. If he can fall to the 3rd or 4th I would jump all over it.

As of March 30th, apparently the "other" category is running neck and neck with the top RB in the draft in Harris. So out of these late round options, who would you like?

Pooka Williams
Jaret Patterson
Rakeem Boyd
Chris Evans
Jarred Doaks
Javian Hawkins
CJ Marable
Elijah Mitchell
CJ Verdell
Brian Robinson Jr.

x2. I'd be okay with round 8 too.

Round 9 would work for me.

This 100%. The best RBs on our team are UFA. We don't even need to draft a RB.

Travis Etienne Clemson. He fits the Kyle Shanahan scheme. Speed. That's what Kyle likes at RB.
The bias in me wants najee since he is an antioch kid, but eteinne in this offense would be fun!
