I really hope they don't draft a CB in the top 20. I think he's the best guy (and I won't hate it end of the day) I just don't think this defense is built around our CBs.

Well honestly we'll see after free agency, who the resign and don't but if CB is the biggest need after and Farley is there I think he should be the pick.

But our defense seems to fail in the biggest moments because we lack an elite cover corner. The last two Superbowls, we had elite defenses but second tier corners. Chris Culliver, Carlos Rogers, Terrell Brown in one, then Moseley, Witherspoon, Sherman in the last one. In the glory days, Eric Wright was considered one of the top corners and started in 4 Superbowls, with interceptions in two of them. The other cornerback in the 1st two Superbowls? This guy named Ronnie.

Roger's was a pro bowler, Brown was very good and Cully was solid. Our corners weren't the issue.
I'm pretty sure that the Cowboys or Broncos will pick Farley. That's unless they make a big FA signing.

He is another boom/bust for me, the back spasms are concerning and you'd have liked more experience.

That said the potential is ridiculous, he moves so well, fluid, explosive and dynamic. Great size, ball skills and he can get better as he improves his technique, especially jamming off the line.

He'd be tough to pass on @ 12, I still have Pitts above and probably all the QB's, though I think I go Farley over Mac Jones.
Didn't he opt out this year?

I'm always a little leary of guys that opted out unless it wasn't their choice like trey Lance.

Yeah he did, apparently didn't want to risk his father's health.

I'm with you there though, as it could be due to his back, or not wanting to hurt his stock, and both would bother me.

I think it's legitimate to question the reasons. Obviously if it's for his fathers health that is a different story.

If it's because of his "stock" then that is a red flag IMO. Doesn't mean he is undraftable however.
I want a shutdown corner. Someone we can count on to lock down half the field so the rest of the boys can put in work tackling.. thats what I want. Last time we had a lock down corner we dominated the super bowl

Sherman was a lock down corner in 2019

Verrett was one of the best CBs in the league this yr too.

imo the defense as long as kyle is here will be based around the DL and finding scheme fit CBs

This
I wouldn't mind him at 12 given his talent and our needs. Assuming maybe him or Pitts fall, but if he has back issues that's just such a no for me. I am tired of injured players. Lets see what we actually do in FA first.
I'd love him at 12
