Incredibly talented player but I think this will cause him to fall out of the 1st round https://t.co/fQGlZx3H7r

Niners should take him off the 1st round board.

bump. It's an OP procedure which isn't that big of a deal...he did have back issues in the past. THAT'S the big deal IMO.
Someone is gonna get a steal after this news came out.

He's my CB1, as I'm sure he is for most people, but this makes him undraftable for me at 12

Agreed, I don't think SF was drafting a CB at 12 regardless.

Yeah his health was his biggest question and after a year off he needs surgery? To solidify his top CB spot he needed to display is effortless athleticism. Big red flags. But if he's around in the second round I trust Lynch will know what to do

That would be a pretty nice coup but I don't think the QB thing is happening.

I disagree that he needs to show his athleticism, it flies off the film.
I am worried about the back though, not good that he's needed this surgery with no season, if it's going to need a procedure after working out, what's going to happen when you add the rigours of an NFL season?
It's a shame because he looks like an absolute stud that would have been huge value at 12. Still, if it becomes viable I'd get him to a Doctor you trust, got to check these things out.

I was seeing a lot of mocks having him and surtain gone before we were on the clock. But with no action last year and no pro-day he has going to fall a good bit.
Hope he's still around for our pick in the 2nd round but prob gets snagged at the end of 1st.

Kiper still thinks we take him at 12

All micro diseconomies start as outpatient unless the person was in a car wreck or lost bowel control. Before I would even consider him I would need to see his MRI pre and post surgery. He had a micro disectomy ( typically removal of bulging disc touching his nerve) which means he needed a laminectomy which shaves part of the bones to get access. Depending on how bad his symptoms were (loss of feeling in extremities) would also tell you how long recovery will take. Dee Ford had this surgery, same with JJ Watt, Tiger Woods. They all needed multiple attempts too. I would not spend first round draft capital on the hope he can play this year given the typical recovery timeline.
I do have experience in this subject having read extensively and going through it personally to recover physically. It's a potentially multi year process. Most will be able to walk normally (if it's lower back) in a few weeks. The nerve takes months to heal, so I wouldn't expect him in a weight room doing heavy squats or deadlifts, contact on the field is another story.
Hard pass for me, Baalke says go but he loves projects.
