I'd agree with that. As a fanbase, most of us want a more dynamic QB and I think a great runner would cause carnage with or current run game + the option of the QB going off to the races, but it seems like the main thing Kyle wants in a QB from what has been discussed online and by beat reporters is a guy with good accuracy and timing for the short passing game, which in fairness Jimmy is very good at, besides the 1 or 2 terrible passes a game.

If you draft a quarterback at 12 you better have a crazy Personnel game plan because there's no way Jimmy G will stay on this team. That's why I think we don't do that. Just too complicated. If we go with a rookie we would still need a veteran quarterback to be our starter. And it won't be Jimmy.

Dark horse candidate devonta smith, jerry jeudy fell last year even Ruggs fell out of the top picks.

Jimmy would be fine. He is a professional. It would be very similar to the Alex Smith/ Mahomes situation. We would want to put the QB we drafted in the best position to have future success. So we might not want to rush him out onto the field week 1. Especially coming into this system. Once you feel the rookie is fully ready to play, you try to trade Jimmy. If you cant trade him you keep him as your backup until the off season where your release him. If we do draft a first round QB, jimmy would be gone after this coming season no matter what though.

They could also definitely try to trade Jimmy after they drafted the QB in order to save a ton of cash .

I think because this team is in win now mode, they get a player that can contribute early. I don't see them getting a QB until between rds 3-5 with the amount of picks we have in those rds. I think they go with the highest graded player that's still on the board at CB, WR, or ER in that order.

I think the smart move is to trade back to around 20. We gain more picks and should have a shot at Horn, Mac Daddy or Mond.

Go QB at 12, trade Jimmy on draft day for the Patriots 2nd rounder. We draft a DB or Edge with that 2nd rounder.
