49ers acquire No. 3 pick in 2021 NFL draft from Miami

Those other firsts will be late first round picks for a top QB prospect that Kyle can mold into his perfect robot. We have blown firsts on Foster and Thomas recently and we've been very competitive. People value draft picks way to much.

That makes sense. I don't think you can trade comp picks.

IMO, the 49ers don't make this move unless Saleh threw them a bone and tipped his boy Kyle off to what they're doing at 2. Kyle has a target.

I agree and it makes sense. Thank you Saleh for everything you have done for the 49ers.

Was thinking the same thing

My exact thoughts because i dont understand why they wouldnt make the trade the day of the draft. This would tip off anyone who wants a QB and trade up to #2. Saleh definitely tipped him off and promised he wouldnt trade out

Miami and the Jets might become the most hated teams in the NFL. They may have just given Kyle a great QB.

Yup. We are going to have a QB with elite traits and cap space.

2015 was the worst offseason in history. 2021 could possibly be the best.

I disagree. The Steelers are a draft intensive team. If you scout well, draft picks are great. If you are say...Trent Baalke, what does it matter?

3 1st round and a 3rd is very typical for a big trade up. Plus if our qb is a true elite qb it doesn't matter what we gave up.

future picks are valued at about half of current year picks.

But if we don't blow those picks we win the Superbowl.

No matter what happens, this pick will be a QB. Watching Wilson throw darts all morning means he will likely end up #2 with the Jets, and that leaves the original presumptive #2 pick in Fields to the Niners. We get to see what Fields has next week on Wednesday at this Pro Day. Just love the aggressiveness of the trade, the timing, and the potential result. Niners will still have eight picks this year to fill whatever holes they have left. Phenomenal news.

I'll be shocked if the same Jets contingent doesn't show up for the Ohio State Pro Day as well. Not sure they're entirely decided at this point.

I'm not saying they aren't valuable but people act like using multiple picks to get 1 player is going to cause the team to fall apart. We've blown many high picks on busts and we were in the super bowl recently.

If a holding call gets called we win the super bowl
Ha ha ha ha! Can we talk about the QB's now????!!!!

That depends on how this pick works out. If you think about it, the first round picks the next two years for the Niners should be in the last 10 picks of the first round because they should make the playoffs. Niners haven't had a franchise QB for forever and they had to pay to get the opportunity to draft one. I'm good with the trade.
I'm pretty damn pumped with the way things have turned out. The 49ers get their QB AND can compete for a Superbowl in 2021 with Jimmy.

And thank god we avoided Sam Darnold.

I agree that many people overvalue draft picks. But we're talking about trading draft picks for other draft picks so...
I'm blown away with the aggressiveness in Lynch and Shanny today. This move was for Zach Wilson and no one can change my mind. You don't sell the farm for Mac Jones, and I'm one of his biggest supporters on here. This move is to get a guy you believe can be a top 5 QB and the face of your franchise for the next decade plus.
