3 1st round and a 3rd is very typical for a big trade up. Plus if our qb is a true elite qb it doesn't matter what we gave up.
yeah im not too mad about if we get our guy at QB. We will have so much cap space to buy good players.

Im wondering if Jets like Fields more or they planning on protecting Darnold with Sewell

I don't know who they are making the move to get, but they must be confident that they are going to be there at #3, or the moves aren't over yet. Maybe there is a trade for #2 in the works??? Who knows?
But I like the trade for us. WE did give up a lot, but the #12 is just offset with #3 because it's still an early first rounder this year. We also didn't give up #43 so we still have all of our 2021 picks, including that high 2nd rounder where there's going to be a really good edge or CB on the board. We should be good in the coming years, so firsts in 2022 and 2023 are just meh to me, who cares if we traded a couple picks in the 28-32 range?

I think we go with a project QB. Ain't no rookie starting for Kyle offense, so no point in getting a QB that can't run.

sure you can.
Ok, that's just in the past few years though. Before 2017 they weren't tradable.

Is there a remote possibility that they trade Fred back to Saleh to exchange #2 and #3? That would be a lot to give up to grab Wilson but Fred is going to demand a HUGE contract.

Oh god I hope not.
Fred is worth 2 first rounders to me. Trade value for 2 to 3 is around a mid-2nd round pick.

Ya was just thinking out loud and looking at all options....I love Fred but man he'll be asking for 18-20MM a year.

So pay him and manipulate the cap like everyone else does. If Arik Armstead's bum ass got paid, you pay Fred Warner.

haha yeah, arguably the best LB in the game for moving one spot (even that high) is ridiculous. We would have to receive additional compensation. But i dont think its a smart move for a rebuilding team to trade for a top LB that needs a contract that will make him the highest paid LB in the league. Just a dumb way to start a rebuild

I forgot to mention that the 49ers are about to have a cheap QB.
