Will make extending Fred much easier

Ya was just thinking out loud and looking at all options....I love Fred but man he'll be asking for 18-20MM a year.

So pay him and manipulate the cap like everyone else does. If Arik Armstead's bum ass got paid, you pay Fred Warner.

We're going to pay him.

The cap isn't going to stop us from keeping the best linebacker in the NFL at 25 years old.

He will be cheap for a time, but if he's as good as we hope it'd be something like a 10 year 400 million contract on the horizon...just a few years away.
Whoa, and before the draft no less. I'm guessing we're drafting Wilson and trading Jimmy back to the patriots.

That will be Bosas contract. Fred won't get that much

No. I refuse to believe. This is a joke. Is it April 1? Someone pinch me.

So do we take the Pats offer now for Jimmy G that our cards are on the table? We're not drafting anything other than QB going this high

Only if it's a 1st. You want the rookie to learn. We can still try to win it all this year, and then have the rookie to take over when he's ready.

I'm blown away with the aggressiveness in Lynch and Shanny today. This move was for Zach Wilson and no one can change my mind. You don't sell the farm for Mac Jones, and I'm one of his biggest supporters on here. This move is to get a guy you believe can be a top 5 QB and the face of your franchise for the next decade plus.

Or Fields, who is also extremely talented. Some will say Lance, and I can see it, but that seems a long shot to me.

Rookies can be plenty successful their rookie years.
Given the Eagles willingness to trade the #6 to Miami, 49ers probably would have been better served trading up to 6 and holding on to one more of those first rounders that they gave up for the 3 slot. I think both guys available at 3, likely Fields and Lance, won't be great fits. Mac Jones would be a good fit, an upgrade on Jimmy G., and playing on a rookie deal, but he could probably be had at the 6 spot that Miami just snagged from Philly.

We're not under any salary cap restrictions that would force us to trade JG, so we'd keep him unless there were a deal that blew us away.

Best outcome would be for him to ball out, then you can move him in the offseason for enough to replace what you gave up in the #3 trade.

I was literally throwing in the towel today on getting a QB

I think there's a damn good chance Jones would be available at #12. Hell, if the draft simulator has any value he'd be available in the 2nd round like that shows every time I run it.

We put our dicks on the table by moving to #3, we did it for a very specific reason.
