Trade up from 3 to #2 overall to take Wilson?

Trade up from 3 to #2 overall to take Wilson?

What would the cost be??
A lot less than you think.

It's a 400 point trade value, which is about pick #50.

We have pick #43, but I'd really want to hang onto that one considering there are playmakers available there. I would think either a future 2nd rounder or a player on the roster not named Bosa or Warner.
Swap garoppolo and darnold and throw in a day 3 pick or 2
So, if you have a high pick and are working up to taking one guy and the team behind you offers you peanuts to swap picks so they can have the one you consider to be the better player, why on earth would you take it?

Or maybe you view 2 QB as equal, and see a benefit to picking up more draft capital.

Or...

You view the other guy as a better QB, but sucker the other team into giving you more draft picks while you still get the guy you want.
It took the Bears a 3rd to trade up from #3 to #2 for Trubisky. That should be the price IMO. Man i feel so bad for bears fans when i think about them passing on Watson and Mahomes for Trubisky lmao

Do you have some insight into how much the jets value each player? Their willingness to trade would be based completely on the difference in the guy they would pick at 2 vs 3.

What if the guy they want is Sewell? In that case I think I'd happily take a 3rd round pick to move back one spot and still drat the guy I was going to anyway.

Completely different situation one team wanted a QB and the other didn't so they where not competing for the same position.
This year there appears to be a clear cut difference between the second and third QB and we both are drafting QB's.
Its possible they prefer Lance,Fields or Jones but highly unlikely and some 2nd or 3rd pick will make them move off him.
IF Wilson is Shanahan's guy by a large margin...

Offer #3 and Fred Warner

For

#2 and #23

yeah, and if Jets are willing to deal, you can bet teams below us like Atlanta, could offer more to the Jets since we have no more 1st round picks the next couple of years.

So you're saying it would take more than a 3rd? yikes! Might be right though.

A reason for doing it is the same as my reason for voting no on us doing it.

You have multiple guys graded practically the same.

Also they could genuinely be sticking with Darnold, in which case they would be in our position for the Bears trade, where they know the guy they really want will be there anyway.

A lot MORE than you think, if the Jets love Wilson.
