Does anyone have any concerns about the weight of a QB? To me, under 220 is a QB that has a better chance at getting hurt or not being able to shake off defenders while in the pocket.
Definitely have doubts about a QB under 210.

Montana and Steve Young were probably both under 210 lbs. It depends how tall you are too. If you are 6'4" or 6'6" with a similar build you probably weigh more than a 6'1" or 6'2" guy with a similar frame.

Everyone was lighter and smaller back then. OL were barely at 300 lbs.

These top QBs all have their positives and it's easy to flip from one to another for their physical abilities.
Is there a wunderlic test this year for the QBs ?

I have my own opinions on the two, and while I see some differences, and different strengths and weaknesses, I really can't decide which I'd prefer. So please, tell me why you like one over the other.
They are both athletic and can run and show a strong and accurate arm.
Fields - Big program and the highest level of competition. But can be inconsistent. Sometimes he looks like the next big star but he can be terrible in stretches too.
Lance - Lower College level. Big jump up to NFL level of competition. He has the physical tools. But can he make the jump up to the competition at the next level? Will he look that good in the NFL? At his level he was like a man among boys. But that won't be the case anymore. So he is hard to evaluate.
If I had to guess I would say Fields likely is closer to a sure thing in the NFL. Although there are no sure things. I would pick Fields and he may actually be the 2nd best QB in this class. He's no worse than 3rd best I'd say. I don't know what you get with Lance. He has the physical tools and upside but it will likely take him a while to learn.
Yeah, I thought it was something like that. The biggest difference I see from them is Lance is probably stronger (a bit more of a bruiser), Fields is faster, Lance ran something closer to what we run (including many plays that are identical to what we run), Fields is more accurate and seems more able to throw with someone in his line of site, Lance is younger and (I believe) had more control at the line of scrimmage.
So it's such a hard choice for me. Lance is almost two years younger, though.

Oh, and Trey Lance is aware that GPS data is more reliable than a 40 time. That's already a plus for me.
I also love how he interviews. Dude seems like a grown man at only 20 years old.

Personally I think he will be fine. But he needs a guy around his age, a veteran, to show him the ropes. I'd pick a guy like nick Mullens or somebody like him who is a x'S and o's guy and is obsessed with football to be his roommate and hopefully they develop a mutual relationship and love for the Xs and Os part of the game.

+1...GPS data had him running 21.54 mph with pads on in a championship game environment for a TD. He's plenty fast. I love that he runs angry.

I feel the 49ers might be slightly overrating these guys and forcing the issue. I'm not entirely happy about how much they traded away. I don't feel any of these guys are sure fire super stars. But some of them have really big upside. If you hit this is probably worth it. If you miss this is a lot of 1st rounders and a 3rd round pick to give up. If they miss Shanahan and Lynch are gone.
1) Trevor Lawrence. #1 pick. Best player in the draft. One of highest rated QB's coming out in 20 years in the draft. Gone before we pick. Enough said.
2) Zach Wilson. Probably the most NFL ready guy in our group of possible QB's. He's athletic, accurate, big enough, strong enough arm. But I don't feel he is a super elite prospect as gifted as some. Nothing is a guarantee. But I have a good feeling about him for the NFL level.
3) Justin Fields. From big time program. At times looks like the next big NFL star. But then can look like a bum too. Can he get more consistent and not have the mental letdowns? There is talent there. But I'm not sure. He is ahead of the next because of the big time program.
4) Trey Lance. He may have the highest upside of the group. Could be a real star if it works out. He can run and throw very accurately and is athletic. But the lower competition level has him a bit below the others for now. North Dakota State to the NFL is a big jump. It has been done with Wentz. I'm just saying you never know. This is a big jump in competition level. So he could bust too. But the upside is really big. Maybe the biggest of the bunch.
5) Mac Jones. I see him as more mid to late 1st round. I wouldn't pick him top 3 overall. He is surrounded by talent and isn't really that athletic. It's hard to say how good he is. But he does read the field well and is an accurate thrower. That much is in his favor. He's not bad. I just don't think he has the upside of some of the other players.
Agree with your assessments.
As for the draft capital spent, I'm concerned but not too worried about it considering Kyle can find undrafted guys like Bourne, Brieda, Mullens and guys like Hyder to plug holes and gaps in the talent pool.
Obviously if he picks a bust, he's going to have to make it up somewhere else (i.e. Kittle in the 5th) in the draft or free agency. And to a certain extent I think he can make it up later because he's so gifted in talent acquisition.

I'd be happy with any of the top 3 at #3.
Happy with 3 & 4 round 2 or later.

I'd be happy with Wilson/Fields/Jones at 3. I've been a long time fan of Fields, think he got jobbed at Georgia, and am a bit puzzled about how he's dropped from the obvious QB2 in this draft. Jones grew on me this year, I thought he was a 3rd/4th rounder the year before, but his progress was stunning. Wilson is just special.

No QB is a guaranteed superstar and they're all busts in the wrong situation.
A contending team, with a great running game, a great defense and a top offensive coach is a rookie QB's dream.

I still have pretty much the same preferences as when this started:
1) Zach Wilson
2) Trey Lance
3) Justin Fields
4) Jones
Have any of you changed your rankings since you started looking into these guys? Or are you starting to dig in more on who you like?

I like Jones a lot more as time goes on. He used to not even be on the radar for me, because nothing really jumps off the screen with him. But the more I have watched, he is very polished as a pocket passer who goes thru his reads quickly and gets the ball to his playmakers.
He definitely lacks that WOW factor, but so did Brady... not trying to compare him to Brady btw. But yeah, he has climbed the ranks for me.
Ultimately I am hoping for Wilson though. He has that wow factor. Like a mix of Mahomes/Rodgers.
