Before the draft you should summarize which posters picked which qb so we can laugh at them in 3 or 4 years.

I like Lance a lot
Lance is project with high ceiling, how many times have those types of QB's panned out? Not many. People want to knock Fields and Jones because they had outstanding players around them. Well so did Lance, in his case even better. North Dakota State is the Alabama of Division 1 FCS, they are 62-4 in the last 5 years! To me it's Wilson and Fields, that's it!
Fair enough,I would be ok with either of those picks.
Lance is certainly a high risk pick, but also incredibly high ceiling. I'm hoping Kyle is thinking we're in a position where we could take such a risk in the pursuit of greatness. We have Jimmy signed, which means we can still win while we're developing the qb of the future.
Yes Lance didn't face the same level of competition, that's a concern for sure. On the other hand, Wilson is unlikely to be there for us, and I was concerned by a post I saw that showed Fields had poor stats when pressured, surprising since in theory his athleticism would enable him to turn pressures into explosives, as we've seen so many times with the better mobile NFL qb's, something the Niners have been lacking, Kyle seems to prioritize building offensive lines for run blocking more than for pass protection, and we did nothing to improve the pass protection problems on the right side of our line, so our qb is likely to be facing a lot of pressures. What a qb does when faced with qb pressures is one of the things that separates the great ones from the others.
Fields may not have a problem handling qb pressures, I've only seen that one post about it and only watched a couple of his games, he was amazing in one of them, but the stats in that post (I'd quote it if I could find it) were a red flag.
And I forget what Lance's stats were under pressure, plus he hasn't faced the fury of NFL D lines or anything close to it, so I could be wrong about Lance, but I think we're positioned to take a shot at the highest possible upside, and since Lawrence and Fields are unlikely to be available at #3, I'd pick Lance. Hopefully not Jones, I'm not convinced he'll be better than Jimmy.
Compare that to guys like Fields and Jones who played on teams loaded with NFL talent.

My guy is Lance...he and Fields are both very athletic & mobile QB's. They can get out of trouble and still make plays downfield. Shanahan knows it's these kinds of QB's the league is gravitating to. Time for him to get one of them. We pretty much know what Fields can do. Lance doesn't have the same experience as Justin does, but for me, it's also what makes him the more intriguing prospect of the two. Trey hasn't reached his full potential yet...but who better than Shanahan to coach him up so we can see all the great things he can do. Call it a gut feeling, I believe Lance is a young man who will light up Levi Stadium like we haven't seen since Steve Young.

Pressure to sack conversion rate
Fields 25%
Lance 19.7%
Lawrence 14.6%
Wilson 12.7%
Jones 11.1%
So yea 1/4 of the time Fields gets pressured he gets sacked. The 2 most mobile guys at the top of the list. The 2 guys who gets accused of not being able to read a defense is at the top of the list.
But yea they're athletic and can avoid pressure
