Im good with Lance or Fields i just dont want Jones. Unless we think Jones can become Peyton Manning, Brady or Brees?? If he becomes just a slightly better Cousins or Jimmy G or lets say Matt Ryan then we certainly wasted 3 draft picks. At least we can dream of Fields or Lance becoming like Watson or Kyler Murray etc. Easier to see that coming true than Mac Jones ever becoming Manning. I really and truly believe Jones will be a mistake simply because of the draft capital used. No matter how smart and accurate he is, he still couldnt beat out Hurts or Tua for the starting job at Bama. He had a truly great season no disrepsect but he also had 5-7 1st rounders helping him look good. I aint buying the sudden hype on Jones.

So part of your reason is becaus he couldn't be out 2 guys starting the NFL now. Yet, you want a guy who played in the FCS and another that had to transfer because he got beat out by a 5th round pick.
As for the talent around him, i'm old enough to remember when Zach Wilson was playing Texas St. someone siad you can't learn anything from watching him play Texas st. And a very smart person said, "Sure you can, he still has to make the throws"

Actually not exactly true. I literally read an article yesterday on the Shanahans and RGIII. While they didn't want RGIII they told Snyder they could make it work. So they built an offense for him. The following year RGIII and Mike wanted Kyle to run his offense with RGIII and Kyle didn't think he was ready for it. The rest is history.
Forget about Griffin and Dan Snyder clashing with Kyle and Mike for a second and just keep it on the football field. Griffin came from an unorthodox spread system at Baylor, and despite the hype, Kyle truly had no idea how the supreme athlete with a strong arm would fit into his play-action passing attack that demanded accuracy and processing. So to bridge the NFL gap and give him a chance for success right away, Shanahan simplified his system and ran a non-traditional offense, where Griffin won a rookie of the year trophy and Washington won the NFC East in 2012. A year later thinking he was invincible, Griffin withered in the Shanahan's traditional offense in 2013 — something Shanahan told me RGIII and his father demanded he play in because they both thought he could handle it.
Then there is this.
I've got zero involvement in that...I definitely made it clear I was disappointed in that".
Another weird twist in the Redskins' ongoing drama.
Mike Shanahan announced Robert Griffin's benching just yesterday and named back-up Kirk Cousins the starter for the rest of the season.
Mike Shanahan's reasoning was to get Griffin ready for the offseason and avoid further injury to his surgically-reconstructed knee.
His son Kyle obviously disagrees:
"The doctors come up and tell you whether you have him or not, and you don't ask questions. You just keep calling plays. I've never seen a coach take a player out of a game when he says he's healthy...I think it would be good for Robert to get the reps."
Actually researching Kyle and RGIII may have opened my eyes a little more.
This quote tells me Kyle absolutely doesn't want to change his offense again. No coach does because it delays the development of the skilled players as well. Kyle drafted Cousins in the same year so, yes, he did not like the draft of RG3.
"Kyle truly had no idea how the supreme athlete with a strong arm would fit into his play-action passing attack that demanded accuracy and processing. I'm good with Fields at this point. He has his flaws but I think he could turn into a good QB for us. There's a lot more to go off with fields vs. some of these other guys.
Lance scares me because of his higher bust chance due to his inexperience.
Wilson is the pipe dream although he scares me too

Give me Fields or Lance. If Kyle is the best, he will find a way.

Give me who Kyle wants. I might like the idea of Fields or Lance, but if the coach isn't sold their athletic ability is pointless. It is Kyle's ship to sail, if he wants to pick his first mate as a guy that can follow directions but might not be as gifted thats on him. As long as he wins!

Yea, i'm getting to that stage with Fields as well. Accepting my perceived flaws of not seeing blitz and missing open receivers while also holding on to the ball too long. That though is due in part to him missing open receivers. 5 gold rings is talking me into being ok with him.
In rewatching him again, i have to admit his accuracy and ball placement is almost on par with Jones.

1. Wilson
2a. Lance (if keeping Jimmy a year)
2b. Jones (if trading Jimmy)
3. Fields

Fields no question.
Wilson is getting a lot of hype and Fields knocked falsely for being a 1 read guy. Wilson stared down his first read often. He played really well against weaker opposition completing throws even when it was the wrong read or a less than ideal throw. Against better opposition he never looked great (including this year vs CC). He is more of a project than any other QB in the discussion.
Lance has a ton of ability and might be more pro ready than the other guys in spite of age and experience. But he isn't quite the athlete Fields is nor is he as accurate.
Jones just doesn't have the arm talent the other guys have. I also question his work ethic looking at his body and his 2 DUI's. Fields has no distractions. He's either working out or at home.
Fields is the fastest. Has the best arm. Is the most accurate adjusted for depth of pass. Is the toughest. He does show on tape that he can go through reads quickly. He will learn to do it consistently. He needs to work a bit on over striding on deep throws but that's easily coachable and he doesnt need to do it for power. He's intelligent and hard working.
I firmly believe the Jones stuff is off base. But Lynch and Shannahan are happy to let it spread. They won't want to tip their hand on the off chance someone blows the Jets away with an offer and takes Fields.
I'm convinced that's who we are aiming for. It's the obvious choice at #3. Obvious at #2 tbh but I'm very glad the Jets seem to be convinced in Wilson.

Agree. And while I value it this way --- Fields>Mac>Lance, what do I know. I'm just some scrub fan and don't do this for a living. I think Kyle will make the right choice, and any of the three will be a good QB so long as Kyle is the coach. There is so much good for Fields and Lance, and I just think Mac is getting short-changed just because he's not as athletic as the other two. I just think Mac's intangibles are much harder to see than the sheer athleticism that the other two display, and he gets a bum rap for that.

Fields or Wilson whichever is at 3. Probably the easiest assessment I've ever done.
