Watching him dominate Clemson was one of the best performances I've seen in cfb

Fields is the smart choice here with a trade this far out but I am thinking that ATL wanted Lance to groom behind Ryan so he could be their next Mahomes and we moved to three to take him off the board.

I'm thinking that the board was gonna fall Lawrence Wilson Fields and ATL was going Lance at four.

We moved up because ATL wouldn't give us their pick which signaled to us that they were taking Lance so we moved up to three to get him

My gut just tells me that but like I said the film screams Fields

ATL is getting their next guy at four and they wouldn't let us have their pick so we had to go to three to get our guy. ATL and NYJ are evidently hot on a QB prospect and now we know ATL is thus we went to MIA to get one of the top four and we'll keep Jimmy to groom him a year

This ain't about Mac Jones

I concur. We know who this is NOT about. I think Wilson's Top 2 on our board,....and with the way Lawrence fits just about any system, the nailbiting really begins @ the 3rd spot on our board. Who's @ spot #3? Is it Lance or Fields?

April's gonna be the longest month ever.

Right. I just know that with Lawrence and Wilson gone it's gonna take a helluva lot to take Jimmy off our hands now.

Who do I want? Fields or Wilson. No complaints with either. Probably leaning Fields though. Real question is who does Kyle want?

Edit Id actually lump Lance in there as well but I don't see him as an option. Were at 3 and people will expect to see whatever qb we take this year after such a big trade up.

I just pray Fields blows everyone away at his pro day, and either get's drafted number two, or makes me comfortable with us taking at 3. Can Fields give you Lamar Jackson / Kyler Murray type production out of his legs while being a better passer? That might be what makes the Jets take him at 2 over Wilson. I personally think Wilson should go 1 after comparing all of the pro days. Those fade away bombs were amazing!
Zach Wilson is the QB I prefer, but most signs point to him being a Jet. I have no issues with either Fields or Lance. Jones....especially after making the trade up....is a distant fourth.

Now watch Jones go out there and become Drew Brees or some s**t.

Imagine grading a pro day over 3 years of production

This.....Lynch is killing himself for not taking Mahommes and not being able to take Allen. Coupled with Shanny's D getting punked by Allen 30 feet away from them, the choice is obvious. Have to have a multiple attack qb back there now. Not some kind of luxury anymore! Go Niners!!!

If it's about the 2021 season you go Mac Jones. If the FO is actually telling the truth about Jimmy coming back another season then it's a crap shoot as to whom they draft.

I'm falling for Lance, that kid not only has a winning pedigree, plays in a pro style offense under center and has perhaps the best physical tools combined with his age. He's probably the most raw however of the prospects but that could play in his favor as he may be the easiest to develop and break of bad habits.

You don't think Atlanta wouldn't like Mac Jones? He fits their current version of the system better than he does ours.

This.
I'd be ecstatic with either Wilson, Jones or Fields

I don't think Wilson will be there at 3, whether the Jets take him or trade the pick to another team

Mac Jones is traditionally the type of QB Shanahan likes, a pocket passer. I think Jones is much better than people think, and he would complete a lot of passes that Garoppolo has missed the past few seasons - either because of accuracy or because he didn't see a wide open WR

I doubt we take Fields, but if we somehow did, I would be very excited because it would mean Shanahan has a whole new plan for this offense and our rushing attack would be insane

I would be shocked if it were Lance, he could be great, but there's just too many questions to give up three 1s for

So I guess I'm on Team Mac, for now

Now you just said that Mac suits them better than us so did you just say that there is a QB that suits us better than ATL? Might this be why ATL did not just outbid us to get to 3? I don't think we are fighting over the same guy now that you put it this way. I now think we want a different guy than ATL because they just allowed us to move ahead of them and at this cost I believe there were several teams that wanted to get to 3

Since you said Mac doesn't not fit us ideally then I think it adds to this not being about Mac and more about someone else that we had to shell out for that other teams likely wanted and that ATL did not outbid us for. ATL could have easily outbid us as they were only 1 pick back so maybe ATL likes Mac as a fit for them but at 4? I dunno but we obviously like 2 different players is my assumption
My preference is Wilson, but we probably can't draft him. I really feel there will be two future NFL superstars in this draft not named Lawrence, and they are Zach Wilson and Trey Lance. so I definitely want Lance if Wilson is gone. This guy is going to be scary good! 😀
