The more I think about it, we should invest in our OL

This. Ford's availability is very uncertain and don't want to count on it. Would like more Edge! Then CB afterwards.

I'm a big Stokes guy so if we can go Fields then Stokes I'll be like Joe Burrow and puffin on a cigar the rest of the draft.

Honest I keep going back and forth over Stokes and Campbell. Can't decide which one I want more.
as far as pick 3 and the QB's I feel lost at this point

DB needs a pump of youth, corner or safety. IOL can be found in later rounds. Unless an OT is there that they feel can light a fire under McGrinchies ass. Maybe McLovitz can pump that ass instead idk. Maybe they should take another QB in RD 2 just in case the one in RD 1 retires this summer.

This. Terrible season for him. Would not draft.
There's so many good OL prospects out there better than Davis, like his teammate Josh Myers (would be even better if Fields is the pick since the chemistry would be there)
Or Teven Jenkins who is like the opposite of Mike McGlinchey.
Plenty of guys who can start RG his rookie season and move to Center when Mack leaves, learning from Mack in the meantime. And guys who can take over the RT spot if McGlinchey is not planned to be extended.
Secondary is an option but I'd address it in round 3.

Pick 43 will be BPA among:
CB
WR
RT
DL
RB and backup C are also needs but I don't see Shanahan using a pick on those positions so early
edit: trade down is also a great option, especially if they pick up an extra '22 selection

Edge, OL or corner. Or, and the option probably won't be there, trade the pick for a '22 1st rounder.

Would be perfect if a starting right tackle fell at that spot or maybe a small trade up. Then they can trade Mcglinchy and recoup some draft capital. I just don't see them paying Mcglinchy his fifth year salary and he will be hard to trade next year.

Have to look at BPA across some positions of need. Ultimately, you have to come away with an impact player. We need someone on the field, taking snaps.
OL makes alot of sense if you think you have a starting guard here thats going to play 100% of offensive snaps barring injury. Personally, I think there is some draft depth at this position and would look to the 5th round.
I like Ossai at DE if he is on the board. Looks like a Dee Ford clone, giving us a different look on passing downs and a little better speed to contain Wilson/Murray. Tyron is a good option. Oweh has all the tools if you think you can develop him, just rather have someone who is ready to go.
Ultimately, CB could be the play. Tyson Campbell is a starting zone corner to me.

A player that would make a difference and immediately help take this team to the next level.
CB?
Already have Verrett, Moseley and Williams as starters. A CB would ride the bench in his rookie year.
S?
Tartt and Ward are the starters with Moore being the first off the bench. Jevon Holland is the only S at this time that has any chance on getting playing time over Tartt/Ward IMO. Trevon Moehrig will be gone.
iOL?
Maybe, but with the addition of Mack and his experienced protection calls the OL should improved dramatically. It's also still Brunskill's job to lose. The draft is deep with OL, Quinn Meinerz, Kendrick Green or Josh Meyers could be available in the 3rd at least one of them should. Unless Alijah Vera-Tucker is still on the board I would go another direction.
EDGE?
They brought in Ebukam and Dee Ford is close to a 100% although it's still risky they could go EDGE later unless a stud like Ossai, Perkins, Phillips, or Ojulari is still on the board. The dropoff isn't much with the tier 3 guys.
WR?
KB's WR3 spot is still up for grabs so yes maybe. Sanu is old and washed up but he can be that veteran presence for a young WR core. Elijah Moore would be great in this situation. Deebo, Aiyuk and Moore would be a good young WR core with different skillsets to grow with our rookie QB.
RB?
This is where the cream of the crop is at this point and position IMO. Travis Etienne, Najee Harris or Javonte Williams could take this offense to the next level and one or two of these guys should be available here. Mostert and the rest of our RBs are also FAs next season. Mostert is good but he's the Jimmy G of RBs healthwise.

Dee Ford close to 100%???
Do you mean to 100% not playing?
Edge is where immediate impact can be made and they're paper thin there. Imagine a Bosa setback and Dee Ford not playing. The probability of that is fairly high.
Corner is not win now mode but for future and depth. Again, chances of Verrett going down with injury are high. Who takes over right now?
Specifically they need a corner who can play outside, not one of those nickel/safety hybrids, for whom the market is low right now. The only thing is the regime has not shown any dedication to paying large money or drafting CBs high. The only cb they groomed into something good themselves is Moseley - an UDFA
Draft is full of good WRs, but if someone like Marshall or Moore falls to 43,I think they're also worth a long look
OL imo can be waited on. Unless they're planning to get rid of McG, they're not going tackle this high. And interior line they are not picking this high.
To sum it up, I think edge and wr are good plays for immediate impact and edge specifically both for depth and impact. Outside CB is needed depth.

9ers did a great job of patching holes in the roster in free agency. But at some key positions, those are short term patches. To me, the goal of day 2 and 3 of the draft this year is to line up a few guys who could start next year, alleviating the pressure on next free agency.
CB will be an issue again next offseason. And we've had injuries at CB every year. They need to start grooming another CB who could start for us.
Mack is great but he was the only upgrade from last year's O line, which did not look good. And he's old enough that you have to start grooming a back up/replacement now.
Deebo and Aiyuk are great but how many games were they both healthy? And who do we have at WR after that? I'm not convinced that Hurd will ever have a healthy season. He's exciting but he was injured in college and every year in the pros.
Edge is always a need. Maybe both Ford and Ebuya will both be healthy and productive. But we need to start looking at who will come if the edge a year from now.
Rounds 2-5 are where you take your shots on potential future starters. So to me, you want to look ahead at what you will need in a year.
So with all that said, I think round 2 is a good place to get a CB or OG/C. Asante Samuel Jr, Paulson Adebo, Wyatt Davis, and Quinn Meinerz are all guys I like.
But if anyone at any position that the 9ers have a first round grade on is there when we pick in the second, that will be the pick.
