Do you mean to 100% not playing?
Edge is where immediate impact can be made and they're paper thin there. Imagine a Bosa setback and Dee Ford not playing. The probability of that is fairly high.
Corner is not win now mode but for future and depth. Again, chances of Verrett going down with injury are high. Who takes over right now?
Specifically they need a corner who can play outside, not one of those nickel/safety hybrids, for whom the market is low right now. The only thing is the regime has not shown any dedication to paying large money or drafting CBs high. The only cb they groomed into something good themselves is Moseley - an UDFA
Draft is full of good WRs, but if someone like Marshall or Moore falls to 43,I think they're also worth a long look
OL imo can be waited on. Unless they're planning to get rid of McG, they're not going tackle this high. And interior line they are not picking this high.
To sum it up, I think edge and wr are good plays for immediate impact and edge specifically both for depth and impact. Outside CB is needed depth.
Makes sense. I wouldn't draft a receiver in the 2nd but all of the positions you listed make sense and would get significant playing time.

The most chance of a guard or edge getting the most playing time is the best argument.

My choice would be Kentucky CB Kelvin Joseph if he's not gone already.
6'1" and long. He's got 4.4 speed. Good instincts. High points the football. 4 INT's in only 7 games last season including a pick 6. He stuck to Alabama's heisman winning WR all game.
He's a bit light on experience but he's a tremendous athlete. Had 13 TDs in HS returning kicks and on defense. Former basketball player. Was a top 50 recruit. Went to LSU and played in 11 games as a FR before transferring to Kentucky.
He made a couple boneheaded plays last season drawing 15 yard flags so he will need to clean that up.
All in all he has the makings of a #1 outside CB.

This CB class has so much depth. I'd love to see a trade down to the bottom of the 2nd, pick up a pick next year, and grab a Kelvin Joseph, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Tyson Campbell, or Aaron Robinson.

Go after the most talented player available between CB and DE. If there is not much there at DE and you see that a good corner is available, grab CB. And vice versa.

I wonder if Farley will fall into the 2nd RD because of his back injury.

I think someone jumps before this, one of the playoff teams maybe taking a swing. Saints maybe.
If he's there @43 I'd be taking him, hope he's more Myles Jack than Jaylon Smith or Sidney Jones.

Joe Tryon is one name that is not mentioned much. I really like the sound of this guy.

He and Mac Jones have good chemistry so bringing Najee in to support Mac would be helpful.

Kyle Shanahan wants a Deshaun Watson without the happy ending massages at QB and a do it all Derrick Henry at RB. So he's going Justin Fields in the first and Najee Harris in the second if he drops to #43.

Apparently the 49ers were in constant contact with Harris before the big trade. Matt Maiocco article says Harris thought the 49ers would draft him at 12.

What makes you think a do it all RB like Henry is even remotely a top priority?
