Richie Grant says hi!

I'm not trying to insult any of the prospects but I hold Ed Reed in incredibly high regard. Like top 3 safety all time

Might not have a Ed Reed type in this draft but I'd settled for a Tyrann Mathieu "Honey Badger" type of player in Jevon Holland.

Jevon Holland, Dillon Radunz, Ronnie Perkins, or Asante Samuels are my rd2 targets.

And of course Zaven Collins or Najee, but those are more pipe dreams lol.

Preferably the best available at DE/OL/CB, in that order. I really want to give Bosa a partner at DE, not sure Ebukam is that guy and would like to have a young prospect there. Although, it doesn't seem like DE is a strength of this draft class, from what I've read.

OL if there is a good interior OL prospect that can learn for a year then play Center if Mack calls it quits after 2021. Although this could mean that the 49ers first two picks (QB, OL) won't be playing many snaps in 2021, unless the OL prospect wins the RG position.

CB for obvious reasons. Need young talent there and a 2nd round CB would be the highest that this front office has selected a CB. Up till now the priority has been the DL. This is a chance to give the CB room a nice young prospect so that re-signing Verrett after 2021 isn't a requirement.

Not a fan of RB/TE/WR with the round 2 pick.
Before the trade up, my hope was pass rusher at 12. Now my hope is OG at 43. The Niners have Bosa and Ebukam, the possibility of Ronald Blair and Dee Ford, plus Jordan Willis. Brunskill is the weakest proposed starter. Creed Humphrey would look good at OG. Others will probably be available at 43 who would upgrade the position. A pass rusher at 43 would not disappoint, but a CB would. The quarterback at #3 may not play much this year. The rookie would probably not play much. The FO had a bigger problem this offseason in retaining the secondary than they should next year. Better to get someone who will make the biggest difference this year.
Quinn Meinerz or I fight everyone here!
I'm expecting an offensive weapon in round two. Someone like Elijah Moore who can play at any WR position, return punts and he's good in space.

I would be happy if it was Meinerz or another offensive lineman they just have never shown that they will spend high draft capital on the IOL.

My darkhorse selection would be someone like Davion Nixon, DT, from Iowa. He could very well be the best player available and we're always looking to upgrade our pass rushers. Fans wouldn't like it but I would.

I'm not mad. I'd be wary of taking yet another 3T that is a bit raw but the athleticism and motor are all there for him to wreak havoc in this defense. Gotta love a big man that can move like this:

If they get the right QB then they should prioritize being strong upfront on both sides of the ball. If you have a legit franchise QB, a consistent run game, quality blocking and a consistent pass rush, you're a contender for the SB every year.
Honestly we could really use a pass rusher. I know we need other stuff too. But Dee Ford is hurt like 95% of the time. Bosa is hurt a lot and coming off a major injury. I'm not sure our pass rush is as great as some people seem to think. It's why we made the Super Bowl. Our defensive line was great. But there are a lot of questions on injuries, recovery, reliability of guys who are hurt a lot. You have to get pressure on the QB. Especially guys like Mahomes. Or you have no chance. I can't see us winning without it.

Love the Brandon Graham player comp for Perkins. All motor and power.
I'm thinking the 2nd round pick might be one of those ones where they are looking to trade down and receive a pick in a future draft in an effort to recoup some of their cost to acquire the 3rd pick.
If Jaelan Phillips falls to 43, do you take him despite the medical concerns? Or do you go the safe route with someone like Perkins or Meinerz?

Phillips is definitely that High Risk, High Reward type of pick.

If Phillips falls to 32 you trade up for him IMO.

Ed Reed ain't in most drafts lol. Best in the last decade or so was Earl Thomas and Eric Berry and neither were Reed. It's like saying this offense needs a Larry Allen type of guard or a Deion type at corner lol.
Really hoping for Samuels jr or Elijah Moore
