I remember the day of the trade. Saw a thread in the draft forum "holy s**t 49ers trade for the 3rd overall pick" and I remember thinking "f**king 9moon" but then I saw it was Hero who started it. I then felt the excitement that it was actually happening. I open it up and the first thing I read. that's a lot to give up for Mac Jones - Phoenix. This is why I hope Phoenix catches every red light on his way home after having a breakfast burrito with extra hot green chili.

There wasn't a team that was reported to have some massive love with Jones outside of many CAR. You didn't need to move into the top 3 to get him. We will see, far too much talk overall for a team NO ONE had a clue that they were moving up to three or that invested in this draft class.
Nobody knew about any of the meetings we had with Lance either, unless DJ was just throwing BS out there about it. But I haven't found anything reporting the meetings with him

Sage actually does hang with Shanny, he talked about it on a recent podcast.
It's b******t. Simms has Shanny on every year for uncensored interview like no other media can have with Shanny. They're still close as hell. Simms just downplays it so people don't hang onto everything he says. The most recent one:
Yeah he makes it completely clear Kyle doesn't discuss things about the workings of FA/draft with Simms though. They're bros doesn't mean Kyle is gossiping to Simms lol.

They don't have to report zoom meetings to the media. DJ probably spoke to Lance's agent.

You think Shanahan's wife and Mac's girlfriend are swapping cookie recipes already or is it too soon?

Kyle Shanahan's answer about Mac Jones + Chris Simms looked like "don't take that stuff too seriously, come on man."

I'd be fine with whoever we draft because I trust Shanahan, but the fact that people are flipping out over the idea of Mac Jones, when he's the most logical option is hurting my head
I might have to stay off the internet until the draft
The fact that so many people are angry at a draft pick that hasn't even been made yet is a fascinating study in psychology in itself.

"I knew Kyle was hot on Aiyuk. I left him off my mock draft because I didn't want to screw him over. He [Kyle] thinks he [Aiyuk] can be Isaac Bruce." - Chris Simms
I think Simms learned his lesson after 2018 where he spilled the beans on McGlinchey. That's why I'm skeptical of what he says now, and why I think it's actually Trey Lance that is the apple of Kyle's eye.

I'm honestly more worried now than once the pick is made. There's potential "catastrophe" in that pick, and the possibility of it is what's driving this, I think.
Once it happens, a lot of uncertainty goes away...we (I) can go start processing and rationalizing what has happened.
But right now, the impending catastrophic scenario is more agonizing than it actually happening.

Kyle Shanahan made it clear that he's less concerned with finding his "prototypical" quarterback and more focused on finding an elite player, which he believes will be there at three overall. #49ers

"You want an elite player. Of course, you can get a player that's elite with his arm, but also can run around and make plays. You see [Patrick] Mahomes. Everyone wants that." - #49ers HC Kyle Shanahan

Shanahan mentioned you still have to be able to be strong in the pocket.
