The angry draft rant thread 😡😡

Speed doesn't help if you don't have pocket awareness. If you do, then having speed is going to give you a better chance of outrunning a DE if you're rolling out. But I agree that fast guys are still going to get sacked. Speed helps when you have to scramble and pick uo a first down.

40 yard dash and scrambling abilty is totally different. I don't understand why people say theres any correlation.

49er fans already saw this with Kaepernick. He was an elite long distance runner. But when the pocket broke down, he got sacked 95% of the time. No pocket awareness or scrambling ability

I've stopped even discussing draft on the forum. People way off the deep end on certain guys and delusional thinking they "Know"

I think Simms learned his lesson after 2018 where he spilled the beans on McGlinchey. That's why I'm skeptical of what he says now, and why I think it's actually Trey Lance that is the apple of Kyle's eye.

Lol,...if you look at some of the stuff Simms said before the draft though,....at least a couple weeks before,...you'd reason that Simms didn't know jack s**t.

Who doesn't know everything after the draft happens? The bottom line is toss his pre-draft "knowledge" out with the garbage.

First quarterback to ever take a sack. He sucks.

There's some correlation on the outside edges of the cdf curve, for sure. A turtle isint going to be very elusive while making big plays in the pocket, while a jack rabbit will usually have more success at it.

It's just that it's not a guaranteed thing in either scenario.

But a rabbit has smaller hands (no fingers) therefor they tend to fumble more often

one draft pet peeve recently has been anyone who posted anything like "I think this was a bad move trading up" lol or "not sure how I feel about this move"

seriously?! We've built a super bowl caliber roster and we nut up and go get in position to grab a great QB prospect to push us over the hump and people aren't sure whether they liked the move?!
Mac Jones would have processed a first down out of that.

Looks like he tried to hang in there to deliver the slant until the blitzer came late from the slot cb spot. That Penn State team has one of the better defenses with some of the best defensive players on it too. Looks like he went through 2 reads though. Saw the safety take away the streak and the blitzer out of the corner of his eye, went up top and they took away the slant early, but he tried to buy time and would have had a good window for the throw had he had another half second. For a bad play, I see enough I like.
