That's interesting, I didn't know that.

Leaf, only because there was a lot of debate about him being better then Manning.

I do remember reading that Russell was only up there in '07 because there wasn't much at QB that year. The buzz about Manning/Leaf was definitely close to 50/50.

Yeah that 07 draft is probably the greatest draft without a top caliber QB.

Leaf. That qb class was putrid in 2007.
The 1998 qb class was strong, on other hand.
JaMarcus at least has some NFL highlights. Ryan Leaf doesnt.

Toss up with Russell and Leaf imo. I went with Leaf because Chargers traded up to get him and there was even people wondering if he should go ahead of Peyton Manning.
Plus he also didn't give a F.

Probably Leaf just because Manning went 1st. It's like Darco and Lebron, Melo and Wade.

Another reason I probably went with Leaf is that I lived in OC in the late 90's and heard about every dick move he reportedly pulled. I remember one story where he supposedly got on a bus right after a really bad loss and loudly bragged to his teammates that he had just earned a big roster bonus. Whether that story was true or not I don't think there's much question he was an a-hole.

Jamarcus was so bad he ruined the name. You can't name your baby Jamarcus (it's like the Hitler name is verboten)

I'm surprised Mac Jones isn't on the list because supposedly he's the #3 pick and a bust already here in the WZ.

That was the talking point back then...."Tedford QB's never work out in the NFL!" Trent Dilfer was another one. Kyle Boller too. A bunch of first rounders, some very early firsts that flopped professionally until Rodgers came alone.

Leaf for me. He was considered 1.b to Manning's 1a. Tons of hype.
I called Jamarcus getting drafted 1 overall and being a bust before he blew up at LSU. Knew he has off the charts arm strength and size. Also knew about his lifestyle off the field. Played against him in high school and beat them but they had some amazing talent that never made it out of Mobile.
And like others have said, he was at the top only due to physical gifts and a down year for qbs

Definitely Leaf. The fact that there was even a debate makes this worse. The JaMarcus pick looks even worse because there were multiple Hall of Fame and borderline Hall of Fame talents taken after him.
