He's a stud and is going to go mid first. Which means we won't be in a position to get him as we have other needs. So ya if he falls to the 3rd? Letzeeee Goooooooooo!!!!!!!!
Thats not gonna happen though

I like him a lot, have heard hm a couple times on KNBR, seems like a great guy and he's dying to wear the Red and Gold in his native bay area. Also a huge talent! We probably aren't positioned to make it happen, but maybe they can find a way, sounds like the Niners have been in touch with him numerous times.

Personally, I don't get why RB aren't drafted higher. Any offensive player that touches the ball 20 times a game is going to have a major impact on the success of your offense, second only to QB.

Yes I agree. I think they used to be drafted higher, and they used to get paid more too. A great RB can transform an offense. The difference in our offense when Mostert (great back if he can stay on the field) is running compared to Coleman or McKinnon, for example (and they are, or were, decent RBs) is huge.
Most of them seem to have a short shelf-life, maybe that's part of it, also the game has changed and, proportionately, teams get far more of their yards from passing than they used to.
I think it's an over-correction, and their value will go up again eventually.

f**k it I'm all for it. Lombardi said we simply don't have enough roster spots for all the draft picks we currently have.
Mostert and Harris is stupid. Love Wilson too.
Throw in a fields/Lance. That's insane...just watching him run routes at his pro day I thought it was a WR.
Remember Mostert/Wilson are only signed for this yr.

If that was the case why didn't we trade away more of this year's assets in the trade up?
The cupboard is certainly not bare, but it could definitely use some restocking.

because the Jets and Jags clearly aren't moving off their picks. Why give up more to Miami when what you offered was acceptable?
I wouldn't be shocked if they move back up from the 2nd. I would rather move down and get a 2022 future pick or something but quality over quantity is good.

I personally think we're more likely to trade down from #43 to get an extra 3rd rounder, seems to be a strong area in the draft.
How high would #43 & 102 realistically get us anyway?

The real smokescreen, we were in Alabama to watch Harris at his pro day, not Mac.

It would be interesting if they pulled this off. Maybe they are doing due diligence? But too many needs elsewhere. I do like the interest in a top back however. Maybe this will be the move in 2022.

I wonder if they went to Bama's pro day pretending to go for Mac while they really wanna get a good look at Najee to see if he is worth trading up for??
Imagine a fields, juice, Najee backfield

I like Harris a lot, but the 49ers are great and finding undrafted running backs that work well in their system. The secondary and O line are higher priorities.

Harris could be the big durable back they don't have. He's a good receiver and could carry the ball 15020 times with Mostert giving therm the breakaway option. Harris could be a lot like Beastmode in the NFL.

He would wreck in this offense
