I have turned my attention to trading Garoppolo to facilitate a trade up for Harris.
Please give me this.

Nah, if Jimmy's moved it should be for '22 or '23 picks when we'll need 'em.

No desire to spend the required draft capital on Harris. I'm sure he'll be a good back. He's a really good fit for the modern game. OROY type immediate production is possible. But there's diminishing returns on an already good running team. and I wouldn't want to pick up his next contract either. A well paid RB is nearly a recipe for a bad team. Rather take one in the 4th every year.

Hmm, there really isn't a lot of similarities between their games, imo. Trent was way undersized for his weight and you could see that the lack of speed would be an issue in the NFL. Harris is massive with that strength and speed combo, not to mention how agile he is. I see more of a Steven Jackson or maybe a Laveon Bell than I do a Trent Richardson.
Trent Richardson was almost certainly not undersized. He was short at 5'9, but that's a height that has never been a major issue at the RB position. And as far as speed, Trent actually was probably faster than Harris imo.
To be fair, Richardson was a pretty fantastic RB prospect and looking back I'm still not sure why he busted so badly. Those old videos of him are certainly more impressive than Harris. I think the Bama o-line makes it harder to fairly evaluate their RBs even moreso than the QBs.

Richardson had terrible vision and couldnt find a hole if he fell into it by accident.
Then add in that its NFL defenses and not collegiate defenders bouncing off of him which was a big part of what made him succesful in college. Plus there were rumors that since he grew up poor and was still part of those giant rookie contracts, he may have not had the same motivation as he did as a rookie.

Damn, I had the same dream too, lol! Justin Fields first, then trade Jimmy G. back to New England, go and get Najee Harris, then build up the defensive backs and offensive lines, respectively... 😎
