Have the 49ers leaked who they are drafting at #3 (i.e. Mac Jones)

Please don't let Pitts end up in Dallas.

Another way to look at this is that the 49ers would love to draft Zach Wilson, but he's likely going to the Jets, but they can't be too sure that is the case, so don't say anything.

I find it hard to believe they traded up without a specific QB in mind, but that's what people have been pushing the last few days. But realistically looking at it, all the QBs might be gone by #12, that's why they traded up as high as they could go to have their pick of the litter.
If Niners are leaking something - it's a smokescreen. What would they get out of leaking their actual selection. Makes no sense.

More likely - they are not leaking anything and there is a lot of speculation going on and ppl quoting each other rather than getting any actual real info. In that case - Mac Jones may or may not be a pick. There are gonna be 3 QBs left after 2 picks - 33% chance of getting it right for the speculators.

"Momentum clearly is building toward the 49ers taking quarterback Mac Jones with the third overall pick in the draft. And the betting odds are reflecting it.

As of March 29, the day on which coach Kyle Shanahan and G.M. John Lynch addressed publicly the move from No. 12 to No. 3, Trey Lance was the PointsBet favorite at +130. Next came Justin Fields at +150 and Jones at +160.

Things have changed dramatically since then. Now, Jones is the -200 favorite, with Fields at +250 and Lance at +300."

Who's Tony Pauline? Pretty much every credible big-time niners or nfl source says it's mac. Which means it's either a smokescreen or the truth. I think the ship has sailed on any other supposed info coming out being legit at this point. Word coming out of niners land is the pick is Mac. The only question is will it actually be, not whether or not that's the word.
Bout time to throw $$$ down on Fields

He runs PFN and has been an insider for like 20+ yrs. he works with guys like Wingo and Albright on his site.

Kinda weird you don't know who he is...literally the only 49er reporter that is leaning towards Mac is MM and he's said it's an opinion... he has no sources. Every other guy has said they either don't think it's Mac or at the very least SF hasn't said s**t.

why does it have to be a smokescreen? They haven't said anything and don't have to. It's just people guessing and a bunch of media echo-chamber content.

He's the Draft guy on Waterfootball.com who's been there for years. He's a joke.

Lol he most certainly isn't a joke. Good try through.

Pauline has more than 20 years of experience in the NFL Draft industry and most recently was the owner and contributor to DraftAnalyst.com. Over the past two decades, he has also contributed to other sites such as SI.com, Scout.com, USA Today and has worked with PhiladelphiaEagles.comfor two decades. He's also contributed draft-related content to SNY television network since 2006 and is a well-known voice on NewYorkGiants.com when draft season rolls around.

I'm willing to bet real money against Mac being the pick. I'm that confident it will not be him. This is a "use your head and it's a no brainer" situation. If they wanted to draft him, they could have easily moved up to 6 or another spot and land him. They didn't need to trade all that capital to 3.

Bingo. How come these so called insiders didn't know Niners were looking to trade up? This Niners FO has worked in secrecy for years - but now all of a sudden they will start leaking the biggest decision they'll be making over the last 3-4 years? Lol makes no sense.

Honestly it's one thing SF has done really really well since the new regime stepped in...no leaks. Like nothing. There's about a dozen examples to backup this.

The media is talking what guys outside of the organization who "think/assume" and roll with that. There's no truth it. We got Matt Miller's source is a freaking former employee lol.

I'm also not saying he won't be the pick, but simply saying everyone is straight up guessing. They're looking at the guy who fits the shanny "mold" which we don't even really know what that that is anymore and plugging him in.

If was Mac Jones, no questions asked...why in the world would they ask Fields to have another pro day? Why would his agent even agree to that, if he didn't have some idea that he might be the pick at 3? He had a great pro day and doesn't have s**t to show anyone else....unless Kyle & shanny haven't made a decision yet.

This. Kyle said there were 3 QBs as of now that they felt comfortable with. I'm guessing Lawrence, Wilson, and ?. They wouldn't have made the move to 3 if they didn't have someone in mind and I'm with you. I don't believe they've tipped their hand to anyone who that is. This Mac Jones narrative seems to be media driven. There are still enough people close to the team and or Kyle Shanahan not buying the hype.

I do believe they are going to do their due diligence on all the top guys. Kyle and John are both smart enough to know this is the most important decision they've had to make. If it's the wrong one they'll be unemployed sooner than later.
