I think they will take Fields. Unless he goes #2. Then it's Zach Wilson. Trey Lance is awesome. But the lack of playing time, time off, lower division level, some things to clean up on mechanics will probably hold him down. I just can't see him being picked above those other guys in the top 3. But he has a huge upside. He could be a really great pro if he cleans up some things and continues to learn.

It's Fields/Wilson. Or Wilson/Fields. At #2/#3. Very, very likely IMO. Could we be surprised? Yes but I doubt it. I think that's how it will go.

I hope you're right. No to Jones! I remember when we both wanted Derwin.
I'm skeptical that Fields will be the pick, but he seems like the most likely option. But there's still a lot of smoke on the Mac Jones option.
Fields.

It ain't about what you want.
I think Kyle remains hard headed and takes Jones, not what I would do.
Who's the best kicker?

The draft is such a crap shoot when it comes to QBs it totally depends on what team the player goes to. I'd like to think the 49ers are an advantageous siituation that at worst if said QB doesn't pan out, his floor is okay starter but not bust.

That is why I'm comfortable with whatever decision they make, even the hated Mac Jones.
I think Fields is the guy if I'm guessing. But if lance impressed enough yesterday then I think it can be enough to sway Kyle and John into drafting him. Call me stubborn or in denial but I don't buy the Mac hype.

There is still some smoke on Jones, but from everything I've read recently the so-called experts are all over the place now. Just like Mayo .For the record I am firmly in the Fields camp.
Justin Fields
Joe Tryon - trade down
Paulson Adebo - trade up
Kendrick Green - trade up
Benjamin St-Juste
Nick Eubanks
Mac Jones is the pick
Man, it's tough connecting the dots...

I don't believe they are worried about anybody trying to jump to 2 to steal Mac or Trey. If they want Mac, they could hold a press conference right now and still have no worries. I'm not sure anyone would give up what it would take to get to 2 for Trey Lance either, as he is still very raw. The fact that Beck has been working with only Fields and Lance, also suggests the 49ers would like to take one of the more athletic QB's if possible.

I believe by going to 3, it has to be Fields.
Mac Jones because I do not believe that the 49ers will be drafting a franchise QB in my lifetime.
Schrager and Peter King think it's either Lance or Jones with Fields as a distant 3rd...
