I've had this feeling for awhile. Garoppolo gets traded no matter what because you're not paying $20+ mil to a bridge QB when that money can be rolled over. I've been expecting a trade for Minshew since he would fit perfectly as bridge starter, potential future backup.
You guys think so? We've been to the super bowl with Jimmy, he just needs to stay healthy. I think we keep Jimmy this year and try to win it all while the rookie QB has a year to learn. We signed a bunch of our players back to 1 year deals, that makes me think this season is super bowl or bust with Jimmy G.

But, knowing how arrogant Shanahan is since he can't guarantee anybody in the world will still be alive on Sunday, so yes he is definitely scumbag enough to insist on taking Mac Jones.
99.999999% of the latest mock drafts still firmly have the 9ers taking Mac Jones. The only exception that I know of is Bucky Brooks who believes the pick will be Trey Lance.

I said Lance when this trade was first made, so I won't back away from it now. I believe it *should* be for Fields, however. Either way with those two, I'm good.
I'm also convinced that the move up was NOT for Jones.

Too much smoke for it not to be Jones imo, so I voted Jones.
But at this point nothing would surprise me, and I'll be happy with any of the top 5 QBs on the board at #3.

I'd love for us to take Justin Fields 1st, then trade Jimmy Garoppolo and pick up Najee Harris for our backfield and the rest is to build up the defensive backs and offensive lines, respectively...
