I kinda want Fields or Lance for upside and added elements they would give the team in keepers.

Well the first 2 QBs are going to bad teams. That gives them a better chance to bust than whoever SF picks.

Fields

My head tells me the 49ers are not going to bring in a QB with character concerns after the very public issues we had with Foster let alone Aldon.

But, damn it looks like they are going Jones. I like Jones the QB, but I wouldn't do it as the face of the franchise.

I would think we traded to 3 after a call to the Jets. I wonder if we know something about their pick, like Zach is gonna fall to 3.

I think they will pick Mac Jones. I'm not sure if that is good or not? If they think he is the next Drew Brees maybe it's good. But they could take Justin Fields or Trey Lance too. I could see any of those 3.

Boy, in my heart of hearts, I hope they pick Justin Fields.

I am on record saying Fields wont be the pick because of information from a source I have. However, this information was then repeated by Adam Schefty 2 days later (Justin Fields out of the running, down to Lance and Jones). This makes me think that information in the media is DEFINITELY coming from inside the organization, which can only mean the leak is deliberate, right?! I can understand Fields falling, maybe, but Simms mocking him at 32 for no reason other than "he might bust" ?! Even Brian Baldinger on 95.7 when asked why Fields will drop quickly and softly just regurgitated "accuracy and progressions" and then changed the subject and moved on...NO ONE has any good reason why Fields is slipping down the board, and that tells me there isn't one, unless teams are simply uncomfortable with the medicals. I really hope this whole thing is being manipulated by the 49ers, and I see a path to it being Fields!

Pretty good reason for leaks:

Scouting team wants Lance or Fields, Shanahan wants Jones, scouting team hoping public pressure could have some effect, or making sure they have plausible deniability for when Shanahan overrules everyone and takes Jones.

As for why Fields is slipping, honestly, it's probably the epilepsy thing. I imagine teams are afraid he might have a brain altering seizure, and no one wants to admit that's the reason why.

It fields does in fact slip I would agree that epilepsy is the most likely cause. I'm holding out hope that the leaks are with the intention of fleecing Atlanta

I think both SF and Atlanta like Lance more.

Shanahan! Listen to your people! Trey Lance is the next star in the NFL. He is a combo of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen! Mac Jones will be a bust like Ryan Leaf! He can't run and pass on the run like Lance. You have already lost two super bowls because of your play calling. Don't swing and miss for strike 3! Do not take Jones! TREY LANCE will take us to the promise land for ring #6.

If I were picking, it would be Justin Fields. However, Mac seems like the obvious choice for Shanahan and what he looks for in a QB. So I say Mac Jones.
