2022 EDGE class

One guy who im really starting to like is Cameron Thomas.

Super smart and high motor player that doesn't give up on plays. Hes very polished and has multiple pass rushing moves with the versatility to play 3,5 and 7 technique which is something our coaching staff really likes. Great size/speed/strength combo with good length. Also creates a s**t ton of pressures. He had 44 Qb hurries and 66 QB pressures He had the 3rd most pressures of any edge in the country despite facing a lot of double an triple teams

Biggest weaknesses is he has what i would call a B grade athethicisim and lacks the explosiveness to be the superman of the defense/pass rush. But with him and Bosa of the edge i think our base D with AA at DT will be almost impossible to contain

Yeah I'm not finding too much film on him...I've seen a couple clips on Twitter. Looks pretty strong at the POA, heavy hands and can play all over the line. Sounds like a guy that fits what they like at DL here.
I like Sam Williams from Ole Miss in late Day 2 but his off field issues might've took him off of JL & KS's board. But if he drops to the middle or late in Day 3, I wouldn't mind pulling the trigger on him.
Does anyone have any thoughts or highlights on Dominique Robinson DE Miami OH? Kid was recruited as a WR, played QB and then moved to DE. 6'6" 254 lbs with obvious physical tools. Someone like him or DeAngelo Malone early on day 3 would work for me to add some speed opposite of Bosa.

I really like him as a player. Doing some research I saw the off the field stuff and was like, doubtful unless he's there in the late 5th or 6th

He's one of the more toolsy guys in this draft, and with him being new to the position, I have more faith in him developing better technique than a lot of these red shirt seniors who have been playing D-Line for their entire football careers

A WR/TE converted to DE is always a BIG plus for me. I always thought WR and DE are mirroring positions. That first step is key to winning a pass rush, WRs supposed to have a great get offs, speed, knowing how to avoid defenders and pursuit of the ball are some of the great WR traits that can be a big advantage playing DE. And like adrian said, he can develop better techniques than guys who played the position for a long time with bad habits. Gotta look more into Dominique Robinson now, thanks OP.

Never thought of it that way, but you're right. Guy is huge and still fast, so would love to see what Coach Kocurek and Darryl Tapp can do to mold this kid into a pro.

Just want someone to give Bosa help on the other side so he can really start teeing off

Great link. I'm almost more interested in who the edge diamonds in the rough are. If the Niners can get a legit edge rusher in the 4th or 5th, it would free them up to target need and bpa earlier.

Was reading about the penn state guy. He sounds like an amazing fit for this D

Yeah I mean that would be amazing...the hit rate for a good EDGE past the 2nd rd is pretty bad though.

Makes sense any edge that the tools and technique is an easy high to mid first round pick. Then it trickles down from there
I'm not so sure edge rusher will be a focus in this draft at all.

Maybe we draft DJ Jones replacement on the interior.

Regardless of what your roster building strategies are…because I wouldn't argue that we shouldn't draft an edge rusher, I just believe Lynch really likes Omenihu and Ebukam.

You don't just come in and take Charles Omenihu and Samson Ebukams job
