It's a tad early but I did the PFF mock draft simulator and took George Pickens WR Georgia at 53. Gave me a B+

That would be a great player for this new offense with Trey. He's super physical as well so would help the run game. Sign me up

At this point, the Niners picking in the mid 50's might mean they have to go for a WR, S or Edge player because good corners will be scarce at that point. With the play of Jennings, Deebo and Aiyuk, our top 3 WR's seem to be set. I am hoping for a WR/KR type to help our "not so special" teams. Guys like Calvin Austin III or Wan'Dale Robinson would be my preference.

I agree with that. We need to fill needs but don't do it at the expense of talent: don't draft a corner who has 3rd round talent just to fill a need, draft a receiver who could be a difference maker or o linemen etc. Just try to find ways to upgrade team talent

completely agree, someone good will be there but probably not the position of need. There will be a ton of RBs mid 50s, safety and guards too. Might be a CB or Edge if we get lucky
Christian Watson, H/W/S (6'5", 208 lb, 4.4 40) WR and NDSU teammate of Trey Lance accepted his invite to the senior bowl. Clocked at 23mph on a kick return.

Reminds me of Robby Anderson. Maybe a higher ceiling if his listed height is accurate and due to contested catch ability.

i think its time we burn some picks on ST guys. a good return man can be useful im a bit tired of our returns not crossing the 20 yard line

I agree here 100%, I want a dedicated return man and gunner extraordinaire if possible. I feel like the two coaches who put the most emphasis on special teams are Belichek and Saban. ST can be a huge asset if you can trust yours and use it to your advantage every opportunity.
Of course, I'm not saying draft a 5'8 return specialist in round 2, but find players with rare strengths at some point after the roster needs are filled. Matthew Slater has been a pro bowler the past decade being a special teams maverick only.
want

For whatever reason I thought it was Phoenix Sproles that was the stud WR for NDSU

edit: nah it was Watson lol

Pretty damn good before the injuries...might be a steal if he passes the physicals

Good size, good hands, good body control. Some effective releases off the LOS. I always felt he was a tad overrated tho..had a great freshman year but never developed beyond that, likely because of injuries. Spinal fusion in the neck is going to lead to a lot of accelerated degenerative change, so we'll see how the NFL values him. He was expected to be a sure fire first rounder after the CFB championship his freshman year. I'd guess round 3 or 4 now.

This is the kid I want for our offense. Previous experience with Lance would be great to no doubt

I'd take a look in the 3rd/4th rd for sure

IMO, theres pretty good talent at CB from the second day on. Still early on in the process, but second might be a sweet spot for corners IMO. Possible day two or later guys who could be immediate upgrade could be: Martin Emerson, Noah Daniels, Darian Kendrick, Nehemiah Pritchett, Hodges-Tomlinson, Kyler Gordon, and Kaiir Elam. I'm guessing there are 4-6 first round guys at this point? Stingley, Gardner, Booth, McCreary, McDuffie and possibly a guy I listed earlier (Elam.)

Seems like we are on the same page here. The question is, do the Niners keep their pick in the early to mid 50's (as of today) or trade down a little to still get a quality CB plus an extra pick or two? It will be the classic drafting for need vs. best player available scenario where they are picking. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Hopefully, I will be there live to see it.

i think Juan Jennings is that same type of WR and has done solid for us and with Deebo and Aiyuk in starting spots with Kittle i dont htink we need to spend draft capitol on passing weapons who may not see time with established players already there.

I think if we go WR i want it to be a pure speed guy who can return kicks and punts

Kyler Gordon is officially my draft crush, after the combine I don't think he will project to mid 2nd. Would Love to see McCreary there as well
