2022 General Prospect Discussion and Watch List

This kid would be a lot higher on draft boards if he didn't get hurt. Wouldn't mind taking him in Day 3 if he's still available, when healthy he should be a good candidate to compete for replacement of DJ Jones. I tried to watch film on Khalil Shakir (WR) Boise State against UCF and this kid keeps popping out making plays and creating havoc in the middle of the LOS. Did some research and oml, very impressed. Very explosive and strong at the POA. Quick and very good first step.

^^ intrigued.
Who are some of everyone's "my guys" ??

For me, the must drafts are:

Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State
Troy Andersen, LB, Montana State
Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State

Other targets with an asterisks by their name (mix of talent and expected draft "value") and where I would target them if available:

Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State (round 4)
Lecitus Smith, IOL, Virginia Tech (round 4)
Ed Ingram, IOL, LSU (round 3)
Zach Tom, OL, Wake Forest (round 5)
Dameon Pierce, RB, Florida (round 5-6)
Isaih Pacheco, RB, Rutgers (round 6-7)
Christian Watson, WR, NDSU (round 2-3)
Danny Gray, WR, SMU (round 5)
Britain Covey, WR, Utah (round 7-PFA)
Marcus Jones, NCB, Houston (round 3-4)
Smoke Monday, S, Auburn (round 5)
Nick Cross, S, Maryland (round 3)
Jordan Stout, Punter, Penn State (round 6)
Matthew Butler, IDL, Tennessee (round 5)
Kalia Davis, IDL, UCF (round 6)

A lot of CB and DE that I like, but likely out of range and not someone id trade up for.

Early 2023 wishlist:

Sedrick Van Pran, OC, Georgia
Devon Achane, RB, TA&M
Jeremy James, OT, Ole Miss
Blake Freeland, OT, BYU

Early 2023 wishlist:

Sedrick Van Lean, OC, Georgia
Devon Achane, RB, TA&M
Jeremy James, OT, Ole Miss
Blake Freeland, OT, BYU
From yours:
Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State
Lecitus Smith, IOL, Virginia Tech (round 4)
Smoke Monday, S, Auburn (round 5)

Some I like:
Kyler Gordon CB Washington (round 2)
Roger McCreary CB Auburn (round 2)
David Bell WR Purdue (round 2)
Greg Dulcich TE UCLA (round 2)
Jamaree Salyer OG Georgia (round 4)
Obinna Eze OT TCU (round 4)
James Mitchell TE Virginia Tech (round 5)
It seems like every year UCF has multiple players declare for the draft with huge upside due to physical traits.

Good find 808.
It's pretty crazy we have 9 picks in this draft without a 1st round pick. This is a good draft to have a lot of later round picks. Im glad im less stressed out about this draft compared to last year haha. My guess is we go heavy on the trenches with a DB in there and a speedster receiver.

Good observation. Hard to fill 9 roster spots all with rooks so perhaps we package some picks to fly up to a better pick.

I'm thinking that too. The thing is most times when we're trading up in the 2nd or 1st we haven't had much success. I'm hoping our luck turns around with that cause I don't want another Pettis or Foster.

Not to open the can of worms but both of those guys had the talent… just not the intangible side, for very different reasons. At least it shows our FO is good at identifying talent 🤷🏻‍♂️ And hopefully have learned something about the character part
Could get on board with this

I don't know a bunch about the individual players but sign me up for a speed rusher; Tartt upgrade, center heir apparent and athletic #2 TE!
