Cole Strange-OG/OT-UT-Chattanooga

Versatile interior OL prospect from Terrell Owens U. If the 49ers opt not to bring back Tomlinson, this is a potential replacement that has the movement ability and power to play in both zone and gap blocking schemes. He's a reliable pass protector that didn't allow a single sack during his college career and shows some similar traits to guys like Quenton Nelson and Braden Smith where he's always looking for more work after he he has dispatched whoever he happened to be blocking. Very physical lineman that plays through the whistle and has a bit of a nasty disposition. He's on the Senior Bowl roster so it'll be interesting to see how he performs against some of the top level competition there.

Apparently had a strong week of practice at the Senior Bowl. A good prospect for the Niners to potentially replace Mack or Brunskill.
Thought practices and competition wasn't too big for him this week. I don't think he's Quinn Meinerz though. Saw him lose some early reps then stonewall on the next rep which is what you want to see.

He's got the movement you want in the run game, I would like him to get a couple more lbs on him though. Wouldn't hate in the bottom of the 3rd.

This the guy that lost a rep, won a rep and talked s**t about it and then got his ass whooped on the tiebreaker?
I think instead of a Tom replacement we can put him at rg shore up that line and find a good rt I'm tired of ours whiffing pass pro
More I watch the more I like! I could see him sitting there in the 3rd and be a perfect fit for IOL and groomed by Mack to take over at center in 2023.

That would be ideal. If they play it right they should have some great flexibility and fill some big needs with the draft and the recent influx of picks

I'm all about this pick with one of our 3rds. Listened to him today and he's super smart and a grinder. He's more comfortable playing OG just because that's what he's played more of...but if a team wants him at center he can do it and do it well.

Have him learn behind on of the greats, possible get playing time at one of the OG spots
Intriguing player for sure, but lacks some positional flexibility. Looks like strictly a guard prospect. Just one game at center. Turns 24 before start of season. Not sure if we don't value someone with more proven center versatility or with RT potential.

you look for versatility in backups and spot starters

im ok with lack of versatility if you are projecting him to be a everyday starter
5th round magic
So how long until people start calling him "Dr. Strange" ?

He's a day 3 prospect that can play all the IOL positions. He played center at the senior bowl and didn't look out of place at all. No one drafting him should expect a day 1 starter at center. Let him groom behind Mack.

Listen to him on a Pod the other day, he's super smart, got a nasty streak, and pretty athletic. That's what I want in my center.
