KR / WR with Speed?

Another name to consider -

Kyle Philips
5-10, 195
UCLA

Overall, while Philips may lack true game-breaking speed, size, and strength, he does everything you would want your slot receiver to do at a high level and his consistency is off the charts. He is the type of player every offense can use and projects as an instant contributor in the slot and on special teams at the next level.

I love Kyle Philips.

Check RB/WR/KR Calvin Turner. Played QB at JUCO. Special teams gunner.

This kid fits everything Kyle wants in a WR without a doubt!

Here's some Jalen Nailor highlights. Looks like a deep threat WR as well as what he can do on ST.

I very much hope we take Marcus Jones to fill nickel and KR duties and look to add a slot who can also fill that role, ie Velus Jones Jr., Bo Melton, Kaylon Geiger, etc later in the draft

Two more prospects to watch:

Jailon Nailor WR Michigan St - deep threat WR and KR
Zonovan Knight RB NC State - one cut RB and KR

I like Nailor, forgot to mention him, great name too!

I'll go check out knight

Here's some Knight highlights. Nickname is Bam. One cut zone runner, decent receiver and KR. Yes, please.

Is it just me or is PR/KR an extremely hard evaluation to make? A ton of guys who kill it in college end up being not so great in the pros (see Pettis, Dante).
I'm all for drafting Marcus Jones (CB, Houston) but let's just get Patterson from the Falcons in FA and not even worry about who's going to handle returns.
Velus Jones ran a 4.34 and a 4.32 at the combine. Won SEC special teams player of the year. Has some real slot potential, not just a burner but very shifty and runs hard. Doesnt shy from contact. Gets after it blocking as well. Would be worth a late round look.
I'd like to draft Velus Jones for kr/pr. He's also a solid receiver.
Post combine, this draft class has historic speed. Who do we like? How soon do they draft a WR4/KR?

Right now this is my guy. Seems like an ideal fit for the 9ers. He's fast, but still has some power, especially with his strong lower body. Looks like a RB with the ball in his hands, but more of a scat back than a power back (that's Deebo). Can return kicks. Seems like a nice piece that would compliment our core group of WRs (Deebo, Aiyuk and Jennings) and give us an upgrade with special teams. To be able to get all that with a late round pick seems pretty ideal.

What if Christian Watson makes it to pick #61? Would you take him at that point? An even better receiver and KR.

Depends who else is there at 61. I'd love to get Watson or Pierce. But since we have a solid 3 WRs and good WRs can be taken later in the draft.. using 61 on a WR is kind of a luxury pick.

I also get the sense we might be able to get a long term answer at Center with pick 61. Not as exciting but maybe a smarter move. Or there's CB and DE to think about…

What round does Velus project to get drafted?

The other name I'm interested in is Bo Melton.

A big reason for that is because it's also the lightest wr group in history. I think the average weight is around 180. I just hope we can finally get a punt returner that can also serve as a deep threat
Y'all want speed? Here it is...if this kid fully recovers from his ACL a year ago better watch out. Day 3 only because of his injury but would've been an early Day 2 IMO if he stayed healthy. Was high on this kid last year but unfortunately tore his ACL midseason. His medical gotta checkout but the potential is there.
