High? Yeah I can see that.

But I would have no issue spending a late round pick on another burner if Mostert doesn't come back.

i think we need a 3rd down RB

We need at least one healthy reliable back. This offense would look totally different with 1 Mostert/Mitchell-level guy who can play all 17 games.

or we could replace our 3rd and 4th string guys with more quality guys like Mitchell and (prime) Brieda.

Then Deebo can play less RB and we can lessen the wear and tear on his body.

Ether way we should get a RB or two (draft or UDFA) every single year.

I like how your thinking here. If they don't re-sign Mostert, Cook would at the least supplant JaMichael Hasty as the primary 3rd down back. He's way better than Hasty as a receiver . Even if they do sign Mostert, a RB corps of Mostert, Mitchell, Sermon and Cook would make Kyle's dream of a positionless offense a reality. So much speed and YAC ability all over the place. Exciting!

In general. We can find burners as UDFA. Just drafted two backs last year and maybe have Mostert coming back. And Wilson and hasty. I'll take depth at positions of need in the later rounds
If there's a slight chance he'll play like his brother in Minnesota you take him no matter who we have in the backfield.
Grab this kid and let mostert take a higher bid to miami if it comes to it

A third down vet I think would fit well and should not be to expensive is J. D. Mckisick.

He'd easily be the best receiver out of the backfield on this roster. If you're going to throw a young QB out there, giving him a reliable target that he can checkdown to when needed would be a very good thing. The only real question I have about Cook is his pass blocking and making some improvements there.
Having a great running game with good to great running backs goes a long way to helping out a young QB. Watching Cook's highlights, I saw a young Aaron Jones. A RB room of Mitchell, Mostert (incentive laden contract), Cook and Sermon sounds mighty nice 😎

We spoke to him at the combine. So that's good news

I have a feeling we're getting him with one of our comp picks.

I don't know if he makes it past the 2nd round. Imo, he's the best RB in this class, got all the tools to be great.
Looked real smooth in drills
i like him a lot. He might be there in 3rd round

100% agree. Easiest position to hit on with later picks. Most punishing position as well, so load up.
