2022 NFL Scouting Combine

Gonna test like a freak…reports of a 40" vert 👀

Boye Mafe, Minnesota, edge rusher: He was just over 200 pounds when he arrived at Minnesota but measured in for the Senior Bowl at 6 feet 3 1/2, 255 pounds. He had a very good week in Mobile, Ala. He figures to do exceptionally well in the testing portion of the evaluation process. Mafe has vertical jumped 40 1/2 inches in training. He also has broad jumped 10-6 and run the 40 in 4.57 seconds. Recently in training he's run a hand-timed 4.49 in the 40.

There doesn't seem to be any really high rated players in this draft but there are a lot of solid ones. When I say highly rated I'm talking about guys rated above 7.0 on the 8 point chart. Anything above 7.0 is considered a pro bowl type player. Above 7.5 and he's a potential HOF type. This draft has a lot of players clustered in the high 6 range,

That's actually good for the Niners. That means the 1st rounder they gave up this year isn't likely to cst them a really top notch player. With the potential to end up with 2 seconds and 2 thirds they could still get some quality to fill in some holes.
Lost a couple lbs

There was an O lineman that dropped his weight from 320 to 290 presumably so he could run quicker and do better in the agility drills. I'm sure the scouts were aware of that so I don't see why he did it. He was tall and would never be able to play at 290 as a tackle. He wasn't fooling the scouts so I have to question his decision to drop all that weight just for the combine. If I was a scout I'd prefer to see him closer to his real playing weight. He wasn't the only guy that dropped weight to run the 40 but he was an extreme example.

I hate it when players train for the combine instead of for the upcoming season. Coaches like Kyle proves that not all coaches care about the combine unless to confirm what they see on tape. You should come into the combine with the same body weight you're going to be playing with.

He dropped at least half his weight before the senior bowl. So they were sble to see him at the new weight there as well.

This is the biggest job interview of their life. Every little bit helps.

I didn't hear that part. In either case I doubt he can play at 290 in the NFL. Twenty years ago he could have but the players are bigger now. McGlinchey had to add weight because he was getting shoved around.

I can't remember his name.
Today and tomorrow feature players that will be on the Niners radar.
Wow this EDGE class has some great measurables

Myjai Sanders, Cincinnati

Height: 6-foot-4 3/8
Weight: 242 pounds
Hand Size: 9 1/2 inches
Arm Length: 33 1/4 inches
Wingspan: 79 1/2 inches

did he get food poisoning? or did he f**k up in the senior bowl and add a s**t ton of water weight?

I want to say I remember reports of Sanders having trouble keeping on weight and so this isn't a good sign IMO. Either way a lot of short arms in this class, but I'm really glad to see my guys Drake Jackson and Arnold ebiketie meet thresholds

I was really impressed with Dylan Parham in drills. My guys Ed Ingram and Lecitus Smith looked pretty smooth too

gun to your head Parham or Ed Ingram? I'm flip flopping on the two. Need a new draft crush (well document love fest for Watson is now dead).
