2022 OL prospects

His pass blocking is very solid and you can see the athleticism.

If we feel like we could coach up his run blocking and get him in the gym more he could be in for 5th or 6th round consideration

He definitely has a hard cap as a ceiling. He's always going to have leverage issues because of his height, and with a narrow frame and 32-in arms, I don't think he's ever going to be a people mover. With his athletic ability, as a run blocker the best you can hope for is he can get to any spot on the field and just wall off his man rather than completely move them out of the way, but he should be a natural pass blocker against speed. He will struggle against power for sure and this is where we also have to take into account he's an older prospect so if he can put on more mass why hasn't he.

Genius. Who doesn't love beef jerky? Smart. Get him!

Nice thread.

It's too bad that ShanaLynch can't draft Olinemen to save their lives.

Yeah, so far, this isn't their strong suit. Pretty good at finding get-by guys for a couple games. They're better at buying old FA's and trading for them.

Kyle (I think) drafted Trent Williams back in 2010 and McKivitz did well in spot duties for Trent. So all isn't lost. Great thread!

RG3 will be one of those what if guys

he was playing great before the knee injury throwing and running
Ok bump this thread up. LOL. Need to replenish and get with one of our 3rd if we go Edge on our second or vice versa. I like some of these guys.

Who are the best RT candidates for the 49ers?

Depending of what they get for Jimmy, there could be several options. Targeting a RT in the 3rd, I've been looking at

Abraham Lucas
Rasheed Walker

Other potential. RG/RT candidates could be

Sean Rhyan
Tyler Smith

I've been avoiding several of the 6'6+ 300lbs options.
Bernhard Raimann
Max Mitchell
I love their mobility, but it seems like we need more power to weight ratio at RT.
I just don't know if there's a right tackle within reach with any promise of being a plus starter in this year's draft class tbh. Abraham Lucas has the best chance of the ones that expected to go on day two, imo.
lol

looking like we need to go OL and DL early once again
With the DE depth in this class, I'm move Oline to the top need. This oline class seems to get thin (literally) very fast.

Tyler Smith is very intriguing to me, initially as RG, but also as a RT option.

I already watched his tape before that tweet came out. I think I like him the best of the developmental centers.

Agreed. Near elite athleticism for a tackle, let alone at center. Shuttle, broad jump, 10 yard split in the 40 are fantastic. His PFF grades are fantastic. Plays clean with very few sacks, no penalties, no missed games. Brilliant kid in the classroom. Hit ACC Academic Honor roll 4 times, 3 times named to ACC All-Academic team. In the MBA program at Wake 3.76 GPA. Hitting all the check boxes for developmental center. Not alot of tape there because he was always the best athlete in the room and playing LT.

You think he will be there with our comp picks?
