Best TE's in the draft?

He show chased the athletic numbers which is great and all, but why I watch the combine is for the movement drills, the gauntlet, how they carry themselves under pressure, Jelani absolutely caught my eye in every aspect, he would be the only TE I would be comfortable spending a pick on before round 7. He could go round 4, I wouldn't make that investment because he have kittle, but if he's there in the 5th and the other needs dont show value then I'd take him and know we have a quality #2 who has the upside to be a #1 if Kittle gets injured.

Not how I'd put it, but I agree with you on the prospect. A nice blend of size, athleticism and receiving skills. Co-signed.

Not a lot of love for Ruckert here. That's who I would love to see us get. Great hands, deceptive speed, long frame, and he is a better blocker than many analysts give him credit.

TE:

1. Trey McBride Colorado State

2. Isaiah Likely Coastal Carolina

3. Jalen Wydermyer Texas A&M

4. Greg Dulcich UCLA

5. Jeremy Ruckert Ohio State

Sleeper: James Mitchell Virginia Tech

Derrick Deese Jr is nice too but if I drafted him I might try to convert him to OL. He's a great blocker in the run game and he would probably have a better future as an undersized Guard.

OL? He weighed in at 235, I don't think that's ever going to happen. He'd need to put on 55-60 pounds and I don't know any player who was able to add more than around 30-35 or so after coming to the NFL.
Co-signed.

6-6 258 34" arms probably available in the 5th or maybe after.

What's the best named TE among prospects? Anyone on Jake Butt's level?
I don't think that's our biggest need. But maybe late for depth. Because we do get a lot of injuries there.

TE does feel like an under the radar need. The Niners have been trying to find a bargain bin compliment to Kittle for years. Maybe this is the year they could find a day 3 diamond in the rough?

Good player. A lot of people assumed his production would take off last year, but it did just the opposite. Ohio State is very much a vertical passing team, though, and having 3 future first rounders at wide receiver makes it hard to get the ball to Ruckert.

Like you said, though, he has a massive frame and very soft hands. Not the quickest, but better than average speed for a tight end when he gets going. Could be a wonderful seam and redzone target for somebody.

Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle may have a similar effect.

Funny how having top talent was used against one QB but not another.

This is the guy I want if they take a TE. Elite ras score. Kid started off a a blocking TE and finally got some play in the passing game. I think he could be a decent 2 with a lot of upside.

Agreed on a lot of upside. My nephew plays for Virginia and I watched all their games last season. Jelani is a legit prospect with a lot of upside, Oklahoma State didn't do him any favors by misusing him. The potential is there, would love to have him in red and gold.
