All I know is he is a burner which Niners are probally looking for to pair with Trey since the deep ball will now be an option. And a guy they can get late in day 2. And more evidence that they are moving on from Jimmy. Because they don't even look at this type of WR if Jimmy is starting.

MB mocked him in the 3rd. Sounds intriguing.

Round 3, Pick 105: Danny Gray, WR, SMUThe 49ers have grit at wide receiver. They need speed.

Enter Gray, who posted a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at this year's combine and averaged 16.4 yards a catch last season for the Mustangs.

The recent combine was full of receivers who posted sub-4.4-second 40s. Gray stands out from many in that group because you can see the separation on game days. He seems particularly adept at the crossing routes that are a big part of Kyle Shanahan's attack. When he gets the ball in stride and in space, more often than not the play ends with him in the end zone.

Shanahan likes to have at least one blazing-fast wideout such as Marquise Goodwin(4.27-second 40) or Travis Benjamin(4.36) on his 49ers rosters. In Gray, he'd have another in that line, this time paired with a young, strong-armed quarterback who can take advantage of that downfield speed.

Who's MB? I've seen him mocked much later than the 3rd. Watched some is just stuff from the SB and I'm intrigued.

Barrows. I've seen him around 4th
if they could grab him in the 4th and trade back into the 4th and grab McKinley I'd be pleased

Do we have any clarification on the types of visits these have been?
Private workouts? Formal Combine interviews? Top 30 visits?

Teams generally meet with every prospect leading up to the draft (per prior scouts Dan Hatman & Josh Norris) so a simple 'meeting' might not mean much. However, when they have a limited amount to pass out (Combine interviews, top-30 visits) or have to put it on their own dime (private workouts) then I feel those hold much more weight.
HAVE we brought in (WR) Jesse Matthews of San Diego State??

LEON O'NEAL (FS) Texas AM

Probably not Matthews. He would be a part of the local pro day so he'll be a 'freebie'.

O'Neal hasn't been brought in yet but apparently he's stated he's met with the team multiple times? Not entirely sure as to the context of the meetings though.
DT Kalia Davis so far is the only player I've seen scheduled with a formal visit. Odd not to hear any news so late in the draft season.

  • RB James Cook
  • RB Rachaad White
  • WR Danny Gray
  • WR Mike Harley
  • WR Bo Melton
  • WR Samori Toure
  • WR Christian Watson
  • TE Daniel Bellinger
  • TE Chigoziem Okonkwo
  • OT Jean Delance
  • OG Cole Strange
  • C Cam Jurgens
  • Edge Michael Clemons
  • Edge Drake Jackson
  • Edge Boye Mafe
  • Edge Dominique Robinson
  • Edge Myjai Sanders
  • Edge Alex Wright
  • DT Thomas Booker
  • DT Kalia Davis
  • LB Troy Andersen
  • S Kerby Joseph
  • S Leon O'Neal
  • CB Kalon Barnes
  • CB Chase Lucas
  • CB/PR/KR Marcus Jones

Last year, 49ers met with Lance, Sermon and Lenoir but no reported meetings with the others drafted.

Do you guys have a good sense of where these guys are projected to go by round? It sometimes reveals a strategy. For instance, if they are looking at a cluster of LB's projected to go in R5, that'll give you a snap shot into their board and strategy.

Look at quantity and quality.

I really appreciate that. TY!
You can also check out a Consensus Big Board here. They compiled over 150 boards so this should give you a good idea as how guys are ranked by the media.
Obviously, they really only have the film to go off so it won't beva mirror image of where the league or specific teams might have them.
