He is the prototypical safety and would be a homerun hit for us. I think we may have to surrender a 3rd and more to move up for him though. I really wish we were able to trade Jimmy to Indy for their 2nd. Would of been in good position to do a minor trade up for him.
If we dont get him, Bryan Cook is my next favorite for SS and he could be had in the 3rd

I have no hope he falls to 61 as I have him as S2. With Hill being S3 but more of a traditional deep middle roamer so for a single high D he may be above Brisker. But I'm also cool with giving Huf a shot next year to step in for Tartt.
You are now my WZ BFF
I admit I was down on him last year and I still have my reservations about him but I can't completely enjoy my crow until we get to see him full time starting.
Giving Huff a shot?
Why would our starting nickel corner need a shot?

Jimmie Ward wishes he could have a clean rep like this.

Huf has got some great instincts but he is still very slow. I think he is an amazing STer and heavy coverage packages. Give him a zone close to the line and he will do great. Ask him to cover a tight end? not so much. Ask him to go sideline-to-sideline? not so much. Ask him to fill in running lanes? not great.
He will have a great impact on defense in certain packages, but not a true full time SS.

Brisker would be Safety 1 in most drafts, I would have no issue moving up to get him, one of the few players worth giving away a valuable mid round pick for to move up.

I agree, Huf is a great football player, but his athletic traits prevent him from being an every down player. He is a great asset to have but only in sub packages and ST, we need a true safety to play alongside Ward.If we don't sign honey badger, then S becomes as big as a need as OL/Edge, Tartt is still available but I'd rather upgrade with a ball hawk. JT Woods from Baylor is under rated and I think will be a better pro than college player, speed and movement skills with the ability to play the ball. As I said above tho, if we traded up for Brisker I'd be happy.

He was "better" than I thought he would be...which isn't saying much. I agree with everything you said.

I'm all for moving up and snagging him if he's still on the board mid 2nd rd. I'd toss pick 130 to go get him.

I think he will be a Jet after they pass on Hamilton early in the draft.

Love this kid! What you call a "good football player' would be the perfect compliment to Jimmie Ward IMO. I wouldn't be mad if we took him at 61....

It seems like every year there is a couple nice defensive players from Penn State.
