If Deebo gets traded for pick #10 who should Niners take?

Why do so many people keep advocating this? Where is the logic?

I don't get it. We don't have room on the roster for more picks. If Deebo is traded, we need an impact player to replace him. BPA.

We already have NINE picks. People are suggesting we trade for more, including the #10....which we would spin for even more pics? So we are going to be making, what, at least 13 picks in that scenario?

I really believe that people arent thinking this through at all.

trading back doesn't necessarily mean more picks this year, you can trade back and get future picks

the difference between 10 and say 20 isn't that much in this draft... sure, if there's a home run pick like Gardner sitting there at 10, just take him

but IF we trade Deebo to the Jets and get 10 in return, and IF there isn't one of the top 3 OLmen, Gardner, Hutchinson there -- then it only makes sense to trade back 10-15 spots and pick up a '23 second (or whatever the compensation would be)
A lot of the reason Deebo played RB so much last year, was because he had the speed to really hit the outside zone runs. Something we lost when Mostert went down. Deebo brought a lot more toughness to it, but that is the production that we really need to replace. I think we would get the #10 and a 2nd from the Jets, and I am still hoping we get SOMETHING for Jimmy during the draft. I'd love to get Gardner, but he won't make it to #10. So Stingly would probably be my pick. A treade down and getting Kyle Hamilton would also be nice, since I think our need at safety is actually slightly more than corner at the moment.

Then I would love to replace Deebo's production with a pair of 2nd rounders, in WR Christian Watson and RB Breece Hall! And I do not care that Kyle can find a RB in the 6th blah blah blah. Then why was Deebo playing RB so much?? Yes Kyle can do a lot with most any RB, but Hall would be an amazing fit that could really unlock the whole zone run scheme. Makes that first cut fasy, and accelerates. Has power in short yardage, and punishes tacklers. AND can catch out of the backfield!

If we were 10, I'd be down to trade down to like 20-25 range and pick up a solid return. And then use the pick on Christian Watson

Yeah honestly I am not a college football guy so I have no idea who should be picked if we have #10. I'm simply saying that strictly from a numbers standpoint, trading down and piling up more picks doesn't make sense. I already think 9 picks is too much.

And that's completely putting aside the fact that kicking the can down the road with draft picks does nothing in terms of helping fill holes now.

It's obvious why Deebo was playing RB: because 1) he was damn good at it 2) it creates a personnel matchup nightmare for the defense, and Kyle is all about creating mismatches. Kyle and Deebo kept DCs up all night because it's incredibly difficult to counter the 49ers' offense when they come out in what appears to be a pass-heavy personnel package(a lot of times packages that appeared like the 49ers had no RB on the field), and then suddenly Deebo turns into a RB. If the defense comes out in nickel--or worse: dime package--and Deebo motions into the backfield, now Kyle is forcing mainly DBs to tackle Deebo in the 2nd level. And DBs don't want to tackle Deebo. Go back and rewatch all of the Deebo's runs out of the backfield. There were countless plays where Deebo gets into the 2nd level, and DBs let him run right by them because they were literally terrified to square him up.

Kyle always planned to use a WR with the ability to handle a few carries as a RB as a wrinkle out of the backfield. Deebo just happens to be amazing at it, and even if Deebo is traded, I fully expect that WR -> RB wrinkle to continue moving forward albeit probably fewer reps without Deebo.

Same. But I'm saying we could grab an extra first or second next year, along with just moving back 10-15 and then ldeally draft deebo a replacement + an extra whatever next year

I'm down for whatever but I'm okay trading back
We have enough picks this year but replacing next year's 1st, in addition to one for this year, would be an amazing manoeuvre.

I agree if they don't trade up with some of their later picks.

This should be about maximizing picks in the top 100, specifically between 15 and 45.
Trade down to 15-20 and then get back in around 28 so we can have two players on fifth year options.
I want the Jet #4 and #10 for Deebo. Otherwise get lost.

It helps if you actually read the sentence that literally came right before the part you quoted....

I fully agree with this. Why in the world do we need more picks? If things are irreparable with deebo so be it make that trade but then don't get cute just pick bpa. We don't need 15 picks in this draft we need quality.
