If Deebo gets traded for pick #10 who should Niners take?

Why do so many people keep advocating this? Where is the logic?

I don't get it. We don't have room on the roster for more picks. If Deebo is traded, we need an impact player to replace him. BPA.

We already have NINE picks. People are suggesting we trade for more, including the #10....which we would spin for even more pics? So we are going to be making, what, at least 13 picks in that scenario?

I really believe that people arent thinking this through at all.

I fully agree with this. Why in the world do we need more picks? If things are irreparable with deebo so be it make that trade but then don't get cute just pick bpa. We don't need 15 picks in this draft we need quality.

Moving down from ten doesn't mean we can't then move up back into the top 3 rounds with our other picks. There aren't 10 "bluechip" prospects in this class. Depending on how the board falls, the sweet spot is likely to be between picks 25 and 75, and pick 10 is likely to be a reach

I agree if they don't trade up with some of their later picks.

This should be about maximizing picks in the top 100, specifically between 15 and 45.

100% agree with this. Could realistically get 4 starters out of that, Jets give 10, 35, 38. Trade 10 to Pitt for 20 and 52. end up with 20, 35, 38, 52. That's four instant starters IMO. Trevor Penning, Kyler Gordon, Lewis Cine or Jalen Pitre, and Christian Watson. Then they could be in a situation to trade some of their remaining 2022 pics for 2023 draft capital.

Draft pick quality does not assure prospect quality. Getting your hands on players and seeing how they perform in camp is probably just as important if not more important than the scouting process itself. If you want quality players, then drafting 15 players and then keeping the best performers is a reasonable way to achieve that goal.

That being said, I never understood this idea that the 49ers are so deep. There are many holes currently and soon-to-be holes on this roster. Hell, just OL, RB, DB is extremely thin and we could use a crop of young talent because they may need to take the reigns immediately. There should be players available late in this draft who should be able to compete or beat out players like Brunskill, Banks, Moore, Skule, Wilson Jr, Sermon, Woerner, Dontae Johnson, etc.

I know that there are always late bloomers, but early returns at the pro level (1st year) are more important to player evaluation than collegiate scouting, imo.

It would; essentially be Deebo for Lance. I still don't see us pulling two 1sts for Deebo but I didn't expect the Jets throwing down the No.10 on the table for starters either must really be a lack luster draft

Exactly, or we can even trade some this year for higher picks next year. I'd love to get a #1 again next year.
Jermaine Johnson or Thibedeaux, edge with speed.

Exactly and for me I'd rather go linderbaum, Green or Zion each projected to go between 15-25. So if I could trade down a few and still get my guy why wouldn't you?

We need a center but I'm a little concerned about Linderbaum because of hus size. I don't know if he can add 20 lbsand still play. At 295 and with short arms he's going to have trouble with some of the big tackles in the league.

trade down or up doesn't re4ally matter -- we need way more than the #10 to give up deebo. /discussions

Imo, he'll be fine. He's strong, utilizes natural leverage, and is quick out of his stance. Very rarely will be face up 1v1 vs a NT without help in pass pro
I like the Ohio state guys - Garrett and Olave. I think Williamson from Alabama would be good too. I just don't know if we would be in position to get either without drafting them super high at 10.

I honestly haven't looked at this years draft AT ALL because we didn't have a first round pick. So maybe im speaking foolishly. I just know I watched those guys play this year and they seemed like they could transition to the pros well.

We can go with a fellow Seminole in Jermain Johnson.
