They gave Ward a pretty hefty contract to be a starter. They have Thomas and Moseley, they very well might bring back Verrett and will still likely draft another CB somewhere with these remaining 5 picks.

Yes they gave Ward a pretty large contract but this team needs more than just one big move. I'm sure they'll take a Safety but that's my point they wait so long to do it. I would've been happy with Kerby Joseph or Nick Cross or any DB in the 3rd round.

Even Robbie Gould agrees.

before injuries though our pass protection was pretty solid at our best points last year

I'll have to disagree with that. Our QBs have been taking a pounding for a long time now . The only reason we had success last season was because of Deebo's ability to break tackles and make guys miss.

Mack has been a top end center and improved pass-pro across the board. Pretty sure Tomlinson is a top end paid guard now. For all the crying about McG he was actually pretty good in pass-pro before the injury.

people clearly don't look around the league and see the trash people are throwing out there on their OL.

I have no idea what Banks and Moore will be but let's see what happens before we complain about it? I know that's a whole hell of a lot easier to do but let's wait and see.

Not a fan of MM, and Mack was pretty meh last season. I agree with the part about Banks and Moore though. Moore does seem like he has potential to become a solid starter at some point.
Wtf, a dragon is feeding a dog and making the dog s**t into a bag.. feels like a scene from fear and loathing in las vegas
Chiefs last year

2nd Round-Creed Humphrey-C-Looked like a Pro Bowler all year as a rookie, long term C for them.

6th Round-Trey Smith-G-Looked like a Pro Bowler all year as a rookie, long term G.

Now they just added Kinnard who will compete to be a starter as a rookie as well.

Instead of obscure, small school prospects, they've gone in for big time, proven linemen from big schools. They have guys that can run block AND pass block, it doesn't have to be one or the other.

They'll be winning another super bowl soon enough

I got a feeling the 9ers next pick will be Thomas Booker.

Also helps to have a mobile All Pro QB behind the line instead of statue Jimmy G

That mobile QB didn't help them a whole lot against Tampa. They saw him get beat up, saw the need and made a series of moves to patch up that OL, acquiring Orlando Brown, adding Humphrey and Smith and now bringing in another solid prospect in Kinnard.

The 49ers want to roll out Lance with potentially only one established starter on the line and a whole lot of question marks. Their strategy appears to be hope. They hope that Banks can play well enough to replace Tomlinson. They hope that Mack returns. They hope that someone can step in at RG, that McGlinchey can return to form+improving as a pass blocker at right tackle.

Meh.

Stop looking at the trash teams and start looking at the last two Superbowl winning teams who had old pocket passers and won with their #1 ranked OL in pass centric offenses. That's the standard. Not just to do pretty good at stetrches compared to 31 other teams. This OL couldn't run block or pass block when they needed too in the end.

Not for a pick this year it seems…the saga continues until shoulder heals this summer.
