That mobile QB didn't help them a whole lot against Tampa. They saw him get beat up, saw the need and made a series of moves to patch up that OL, acquiring Orlando Brown, adding Humphrey and Smith and now bringing in another solid prospect in Kinnard.

The 49ers want to roll out Lance with potentially only one established starter on the line and a whole lot of question marks. Their strategy appears to be hope. They hope that Banks can play well enough to replace Tomlinson. They hope that Mack returns. They hope that someone can step in at RG, that McGlinchey can return to form+improving as a pass blocker at right tackle.

Meh.

Peters needs a promotion
Thank god Booker is gone, I'm done with soft ass Stanford players

They've rebuilt their entire offensive line in two years, without using a single high draft pick.

Some teams just prioritize it more AND have a great eye for it.

Yeah, but we spent more pick capital than they did and landed someone we don't even know if they can start. Chiefs investing less (and picking the obvious consensus pick) landed 2 year 1 starters and Pro Bowlers. Not a coincidence this is happening again this draft. At what point do we evolve our process and not let coaches basically make the picks.

Brendell, Brunskill, maybe Mack. JC Tretter is still FA. We may see a signing soon after the draft.

Other than Mack, not one of those guys should be starting. I can't believe its gotten so bad that we're crossing our fingers to sign Browns castoffs like Tretter.

Stop looking at the trash teams and start looking at the last two Superbowl winning teams who had old pocket passers and won with their #1 ranked OL in pass centric offenses. That's the standard. Not just to do pretty good at stetrches compared to 31 other teams. This OL couldn't run block or pass block when they needed too in the end.

I'm looking at the league as a whole. Who was elite on the Rams OL? They won because Kupp gets open faster than anyone not named Adams off the LOS. TB has the goat at QB and 90% of the same starting OL previous to it…which people complained about before Tommy got there.

our QB missed about 10 reads, easy s**t vs LA that's why we lost. Had nothing to do with the OL overall. He missed open guys.

look man I always want more lineman….we literally just drafted one and people are crying about lineman lol. My god relax folks.

Lol we can't even sign this draft class without restructuring some guys.

Tretter doesn't suck man. He was literally one of the best pass-blocking centers last yr lol.
Gotta assume we make some trades to move up. Dont think we can fit 9 rookies on this roster.

We don't. Every regime has their strengths and weaknesses (blind spots). This is clearly documented as ours. We're going to have to rely on run blocking, <2.5s passes + RAC and off schedule magic. If we get in predictable passing blocking situations by not gaining positive yards on first downs, we're now playing to our weakness. That's how the Rams got us. Sold out on first down. Then played to their strength of pass rush vs. our unit pass protection.
Of course Seattle gets a CB I wanted

I believe they save like $5.5M if Mack retires. There's Tretter's contract right there.
