Can't recall a pick the consensus hated where the 49ers process was actually right. Even guys like DJ Jones had people excited with all the upside and flashes.

Like I said, either they are just absolutely hitting a homerun and a bunch of these guys are going to be really pleasant surprises or its going to look like they missed several opportunities because they got too enamored with particular players, regardless of overall value.

Do we draft a PK with Gould long in the tooth?
The problem with the draft in general is that the talent in the first 2 rounds or so can fit on any team. After that you draft for fit. Not every player fits every teams scheme. So you get alot of over valuing and under valuing by people by the same player. Hard to know till a few years down the road.

oh sweet, it's the 5th round. This pick will likely turn into a pro-bowler. I'm calling a Safety pick. That would be nice.

None left.

Jones was really the only one I liked much. Lenoir played well at times. I can't see him not improving.

There were many other good nickel options that were higher rated coming out as prospects than Lenoir was.

Its almost like they are afraid of competition or bringing in guys that are too good compared to what they already have.

Yeah. Seems like we haven't done much to Improve at all this season... If anything, we have regressed.

I expect a package of 6's to move back into the 5th here. Cant see us having 9 rookies

Verone McKinley

That's the one I would consider or Smoke Monday because of his cool-ass name

Not sure why we will even bother. Not like 49ers are drafting value anyways.

Yeah, this no picks in top 50 sucks, Lance needs to help bring home 6 & 7.

Lynch needs to be moved, Peters needs to get promoted, and Shanny needs to have his favorites picked after the 4th round.

Well no. You can actually add more talent and have a better eye for that talent and you can prioritize youth and pass protection as well as run blocking. You can develop better. You can add more talent and then add some more...and more...like the DL.

Nobody is holding a gun to their head on this sorry strategy. If they won't do it for a classic drop back QB like Garoppolo, they're now showing they won't even do it for their biggest investment in Trey, either.

THAT IS A PROBLEM.

They just did with Buford. Pales in comparison to the consistent neglect of the secondary.

Meh, McKivitz, Moore, Skule, Burford? You think these guys move the needle. Improve over players like Tomlinson and Brunskill?

If you do, cool.

I think Shanahan's needle is moved by people that know his system, like Person, Garland, and Compton. He rather get a traits guy to develop, than trust a rookie to start unless they are a blue chip player.
