This is what I love about having 11 picks on days 2 and 3. The gap just isn't that great to justify tradeups and we can get a lot of great rotational depth and future starting caliber guys later. Just hoping they don't do the dumb things this regime can't resist. No drafted running backs, no 3rd round kickers, no wide receivers in the 3rd, etc.

Yeah I agree. I still expect some sort of trade up…we can't keep 11 draft picks on this roster. s**t I don't know if we can keep half that.

Oh you know they will overdraft someone…honestly I'm fine if they draft a WRs in the 3rd

We can keep a CB, FS, DE, run stuffing DT, K, TE, and RT easily. That's 8 picks if they work the board wisely, which doesn't account for any rookies that may beat out the competition in front of them. We have top end talent and great depth, but it isn't that locked up at every back up position.

Bro these are mostly later day 3 picks. We have one pick (99) inside the top 100. If they see a prospect that makes sense, go move up. They aren't gonna keep all these later rd guys on the roster.

Most of what I'm looking for can be found on day 3. I just don't want any overpays, unnecessary trade ups, overdrafting- all of which we have been prone to do. The right picks at those positions will make the roster abd you know someone will fall, leading to us having another receiver, guard, something. We'll see. Fingers crossed for no stupid trades.

Bennett, Clayton Tune and Thompson-Robinson for me

Chris Simms has him tied for QB5 with Levis

I'm gonna get accused for overreacting, but if we drafted DTR, we already have 3 high profile QBs on the roster, and I don't think he would make it to our practice squad

I think this is MORE proof that we're silently shopping Trey
another hot take:

if Nolan Smith somehow makes it past the top 20-25, we need to give up our '24 Rd1Pk and a 3rd or two (or whatever it takes) to go get him

he's a perfect fit for the wide 9
his 10 yard split is faster than Bosa (both of em), Parsons, Burns, Reddick, and way faster than Dee Ford's (and every other edge I could find #s for)

and unlike Ford, he's terrific against the run
he might slip because of his size

but he's a perfect fit and all off-season: Lynch has said he wants the DL to get back to what it was in '19, they already replaced Buckner with Hargraves, but they have no one at the other DE spot even close to Ford, except for maybe Drake Jackson who couldn't even crack the playoff lineup - he still might be good, but they can't bank on it, they essentially made that same mistake last year by banking on Kinlaw

I am a fan of drafting lots of rookies. Each pick is a lottery ticket which you can hit or miss. They are cheap for 4 years and they provide special teams value.
Pretty much any position drafted would help, but there are obvious most pressing needs.
Kicker is the only position without an starter at this moment.
OT is a favorite option, because Mckivitz is unknown (just as Banks and Brendel were last year), and Trent is not getting any younger. But I don't see any third round rookie beating Mckivitz. Also, I don't think there will be a drop between McGlinchey and Mckivitz level of play (run game perhaps, not in pass pro).
CB is a nice option. This is a GREAT CB class, so a good talent should slide to compete with Lenoir. Ward only has 2 years left on his deal.
FS is a need for next season and also to provide depth.
DE and DT will always be welcome depth. A DE to replace Omenihu or Ebukam and we know they love to bring boatloads of DL talent.
LB is also welcome to replace Azeez, and probably Greenlaw if he prices himself out in 3 years.
IOL depth to replace the wildcard Brunskill and compete with Feliciano.
QB? I always welcome rookie QBs even if they become PS stashes. Who the hell knew who Brock Purdy was this time of the year? The Purdy I watched on the Shrine Bowl resembled more a Chase Daniels, day and night with the guy we saw since he entered against Miami. Brian Griese for president.
This is a great TE class and they could finally draft a TE who actually takes some pressure off George Kittle. As we know Kittle usually misses at least 2 or 3 games per year.
WR is also welcome. Considering Deebo & Aiyuk could be expensive both, McCloud is a FA soon, Gray has only like 1 career catch and Jennings is also a soon to be FA to be overpaid elsewhere.
RB? Just get an undrafted guy and stop burning round 3 picks. This position is only to be drafted in day 3 or signed undrafted, period.

I was thinking this yesterday but didn't want to be the one to say it.

I'm actually waiting to see if we start bringing in prospects projected to go rounds 1 or 2. That also would be a sign

I'm seeing him more as a later rd 3 guy.
