2023 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

I'm gonna get accused for overreacting, but if we drafted DTR, we already have 3 high profile QBs on the roster, and I don't think he would make it to our practice squad

I think this is MORE proof that we're silently shopping Trey

Personally, I think historical precedent would suggest that Lance being on a rookie deal is more valuable to the team than a pennies on the dollar return, even if Lance is not expected to win the starting job when Purdy is healthy. That said, I wouldnt be completely shocked if a trade did happen - based on what im hearing, the team is muchhhh more confident in Purdy than Lance (which should be expected and isn't a ground breaking revalation) so much to where the team definitely appears to feel very dejected or dispirited about Lance

if Nolan Smith somehow makes it past the top 20-25, we need to give up our '24 Rd1Pk and a 3rd or two (or whatever it takes) to go get him

Just...no. haha

Graded as #46 by TDN...would be nice though.

I'm seeing him more as a later rd 3 guy.

One of the better deep threat WR prospects in some time; definitely better than Danny Grey. I think it might surprise people where he is drafted compared to current media consensus
I have my final two year mock draft which I may or may not post barring laziness, and this is not that, but I wouldnt mind a defense heavy draft.

3 Wanya Morris, OT
3 Jartavius Martin, S/NCB
3 Isaiah McGuire, DL
Trade 2023 5 + 2024 3 for 2023 4 and 2023 6
4 Yaya Diaby, DL
5 Cory Trice, CB
5 Marte Mapu, LB
6 Brodric Martin, IDL
6 Desjuan Johnson, DL
7 Daniel Barker, TE
7 Christian Izien, DB
7 Noah Gindorff, TE
7 Graham Barton, OL

A lot will probably scoff at such continued heavy investment into the d line, but it's a position that the team has told us they feel is the most important, and one that has lost a lot of pieces this year and will lose more next year. McGuire, Diaby, and Johnson are prototypes for what this regime has been able to do with the defensive ends that they've brought in; big, long, explosive, strong defensive ends that can reduce down inside to 4i or 3 technique. All three will be able to eat on twists and stunts. And then you have Martin who is one of my top five prospects in the whole draft; That's a big man with bad intentions who gets off the ball extremely quickly. And best believe I'm drafting Kinlaw's replacement next year also: Damon Payne Jr, here I come!

Lol I'm literally writing up my first mock right now…and you've got the same dudes as me. First 5 picks lol.

I have YaYa instead of McGuire (but would take either one).

Toolsy bigger end that could flip inside, needs some development.
Thanks NY85...I've got some more to update. LOL
