I sure wish the 49ers had a first round draft pick in 2023. I wish we had that pick last year too. That is the problem with packaging picks to move up.
It's still early, of course. That player who cost three 1st round picks may eventually turn out to be a huge NFL star. He just hasn't. Yet.
Packaging some late 3rd, 4th round picks to move up to the 2nd round is totally different than packaging 1st rounders.
Slightly different topic but i think the 49ers got lucky enough to shield themselves from the potential consequences of that move. If Purdy is the franchise QB then that move just becomes an afterthought and the Niners won't likely suffer much consequences from it. If Lance is the franchise QB then that move was worth it. Pretty neat the more i think about it, when it happened i thought that move would seal Kyle's and Lynch's fate either way, now not so much.
