Atleast we got a Lance right

I can't wait for the pro days. Watch the translatable trait of rolling left and throwing it 50 yards down the field.

Or having a DUI and a questionable reputation translates into being an entitled man child whose coach instructs others not to criticize over fear of breaking him.

Just a few weeks ago, heading into the combine so called experts were saying there really wasn't any QB worth a top 10 pick. Now today after a few quick 40s and some drills they're predicting as many as 4 in the first 10 picks. It's amazing how easy these guys can be swayed. Maybe these kids should skip playing altogether and just do the combine.

I know right, it's like they forget and throw away actual game play and think guys play in shorts and cut off shirts with no 260-300 lb men trying to hit them. Like this Richardson kid qb from FL I'm an FSU fan and I remember watching him and I swore he wouldnt go in the 1st. Eye test he's the prototypical qb you want but I've seen plenty of athletes at qb not amount to anything

I know Purdy was an unusual success for such a late pick but after seeing how well he did I'm less inclined than ever to get excited by what players do at the combine. I've barely watched it this year. Maybe that's because the 49ers have no picks until the 3rd round. By then it's really hard to project who will be available.

The only people you can project are those who essentially have no chance to be drafted in the 1st. Basically day 3 picks lol.

Silly posts like this that Crack me up. The article said in fear of him being hard on HIMSELF.

All the while the entitled man saying....

"We're all super competitive. Any time it doesn't look good on film, we want to be coached hard," Jones said

Then there's context. I think everyone agrees Jones looked berry as a rookie than he did this past year.

How bout this quote

"Josh is a great coach," Jones told WEEI's Merloni, Fauria, and Mego on Tuesday. "Pushed me really hard and coached me hard. We worked together, and we were with each other every day and working hard.

So he looked GREAT being coached hard at Bama. Looked good being coached hard as a rookie. Struggled when there was no leadership in his 2nd year. Who woulda thunk it
Mac Jones is a turd. He's the Grayson Allen of football. He cleats guys in the dick. He twists ankles. He's making dirty blocks….and that's suppose to be the leader of your team? He comes off as an entitled brat imo.

And he's not special what so ever on top of it…whatever happens with Lance, I'm glad we at least went for it. We went for upside, great character, and intangibles.

Yup. I was all over the potential character issues with Jones pre-draft. At an age where Lance was leading his team to a national championship, Jones was sitting in a drunk tank. People have every chance to mature and learn from their mistakes, but let's not pretend there weren't red flags with Jones's character while Lance has been nothing short of an incredibly grounded, humble, and ethical person. And guess what, Jones has proved to be a bit of a head case thus far. His immaturity was on full display this past year. I don't know what Lance will become talent-wise but I have no doubt his character and work-ethic are far better than Jones.

I'll stop you right there. This statement tells you all you need to know about this guy's mental make-up. Every professional who is worth a damn is hard on himself. And guess what, they can also handle coaches being hard on them as well. You don't think Lance is hard on himself? Brady wasn't hard on himself? Get out of here with this grown-man coddling b******t.

Yeah we all do some dumb s**t in college. I got no problem having some brews, just not getting behind the wheel. Doesn't mean he can't learn from it. I just didn't like his attitude. I didn't see anything special with him on top of it. Some of the dumb s**t he's done in the NFL wasn't shocking to me either.

end of the day, I'm fine with them taking a chance with Lance vs Jones. It's over now is what it is.
Anyway back to the combine
No way he's a top 50 pick now

100%. We've needed that #2 TE for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if we used one of our 3rds on one. If we do it's gonna be Sam Laporta from Iowa. Peter's has mentioned we like Iowa TE's cus they run a similar blocking scheme etc. Laporta could possibly be there (projected late 3rd rounder). He's a very good receiving threat with good run after the catch in the mold of Kittle. Problem is he isn't a great run blocker yet which obviously is very important to Kyle but he can work on it. Would be nice to have a mini Kittle at TE2 running routes.

4.59 sec 40 yard dash for Laporta pretty solid. Near identical measurements and vert/40 as Kittle

I am behind, just saw the TE drills.....

Laporta looked good...

Washington looked unstoppable, and probably had the best sled work.

I have no idea were these guys will go, but Washington looks like a full sized DE lined up at TE.

Mostly this.....

Chance was right

I think Mac has gobs of talent, but the dude is straight up an entitled brat. I would be pissed if he ended up a 49er. I just can't stand the dude.

What don't you understand? Yes, I would consider moving up to draft him because I don't think he makes it to our first pick in the 3rd round. He may make it to the 3rd though and only require a move up in that round
Only way I trade up in this draft ( first 3 rounds) is if that player has a reasonable chance of starting this year. The only positions I see that happening are center and right tackle and possibly safety if Gipson doesn't return.
With all the free agents we have and drafting so late I think we need volume and hope or find some gems.
