2) The FO has consistently drafted "redshirt" players to groom future starters
Lacking a 1st or 2nd, I think Lynch is likely to grab the best possible RT, even if it's just for depth this year.
Colton is an unknown to us, not the team.
Draft picks are a lot more unknown than what McKivitz is right now.
I think most of us thought OL was a much bigger need and we expected them to target OL well before the 4th round. This front office won't panic.
Let's not forget we nearly won the NFCCG and likely the SB with Tom Compton at RT.
We have the best LT in the game, obviously you want the best of the best at every spot but that's unrealistic. Gotta find the right guys and develop them when you don't have a chance at elite prospects.

Burford at RT and draft a guard/center to compete with Poe and Moore. No trade up needed.

The beauty of all of these 3rd rd comp picks this year and next year is it does give them a lot of extra ammo to move up.
If they use 102, 103, and a 3rd next year, they can get up pretty far, with minimal impact next year when they have their full compliment of picks again.

That will get you to the top of third maybe the bottom of the 2nd.

We can get into the 2nd round and maybe we should. We have a lot of mid and late round picks. Probably not all of those can make the team. So putting a few together and getting up into the 2nd would be worth it for us this year. If we have a player or position targeted. I think we are picking a bit too late with too many overall picks. So I would like to package a few and deal up for a 2nd rounder if we can. If the right opportunity is there.

I honestly dont see us moving up to the 2nd round. It would take all 3 of our 3rd rounders to do it according to the trade value chart. Plus Im not sure another team would even want to drop that far too. I think a more realistic trade up would be the top to mid 3rd round.
We still have a lot of holes to fill on the depth chart. I'm talking strictly depth. Think i saw 30 more roster spots to reach 90.

I hope we stay put. Need some quality depth, the fact that the barnacle Dontae Johnson somehow seems to stick (or the offensive version in Matthews or Josh Johnson ) is mind blowing.
Draft three solid backups. We need more darts for the board....stash late rounders on the practice squad and see the cream rise to the top.

I seen no recent trades that allowed 2 3rds for a 2nd. Especially nit as far back as us
Those examples are fairly recent. It's roughly what I would have guessed, two thirds getting us in the 70 - 75 range.

Yeah thats what i was thinking and also reflects the trade value chart. Would take all three 3rd rounders to maybe even sniff the end of the 2nd round. No thanks.

We've seemed to do pretty good with later round picks - unless it's a very good guy that slips for some reason - let's stay pat.

Agree, Shanalynch trade up history is not all that great.

I wouldn't mind us tracking back on some of our thirds in an effort to get seconds next year, if that's realistic. I'm really not familiar with the point value per pick etc.
i just know I'd be a little shocked if we used all 11, not everyone would make the roster.
i can see us drafting like 7-8 players and stashing 3-4 of on practice squad, maybe a few injured guys that we can stash for a year on IR (we tend to do that), and then a couple making the roster. The remaining picks will probably be traded back for picks next year or we use them to move up and snag someone we want.

I could see us seeing us trading away next years first or second if we wanted to be really aggressive in moving up.
