I'd put the Jets as a loser as well. Reached for McDonald and had a chance to have Sauce and Christian Gonzalez at CB.

If this isn't a fireable offense, we have no accountability.

It's pretty much inarguable that Kyle and Co. have turned the assets available to them into a top 5 roster (conservatively) going on a half decade period. It was a rapid turnaround as well, starting at or near the bottom of the league when they took over. Anybody judging them would/should look at the complete picture. Their results have been excellent. That said, we haven't seen the full effect of that trade at this point, though it's unlikely to be the catastrophe it could have been.

I don't think we have much accountability in any case, lol.

We were in the super bowl in 2013 and 2019, we weren't at rock bottom for long. When Harbaugh got us to the super bowl we hadn't been there since 1995 (94 season).

Accountability is Accountability, I don't hope anyone is fired but I would expect it.
what da?

I think in this case it might have more to do with Kyle messing up on developing him than Trey himself. Kyle put no work in on helping Trey get to the next level. Sitting him year 1 for Jimmy G of all people was beyond stupid. Especially considering that the reason you traded all that draft capital was because you weren't happy with your current QB.

Strongly disagree. Letting Lance sit was a great thing, it was obvious Jimmy was better than him. Lance is probably the highest drafted guy that is that raw. Except maybe now Richardson

kyle then handed Lance the keys but he got injured.

idk how it's kyles fault. Lol if you want to blame anyone, blame Purdy for balling out and winning everyone over to the point where they didn't see it worth going back to Lance.

Well you could fault Kyle for running Trey so much. And if that's all Trey could do in year 2 of Kyles system then either it's an indictment of Kyle not preparing him or Trey not being worth what they gave up for him.

Seeing how Kyle is a great offensive mind and plays to whay his players do well and away from what they dont, I personally would guess it's Trey not being capable at the time.

i think Kyle knew that and was trying to get him experience so he could grow. Then he got injured.

but I hated those runs and they weren't good for anything.

Correct, he wasn't capable to play at all due to injury.

The first season was all Kyle, his choice to delay development to win with Jimmy.

Well I meant all of treys starts. Kyle ran him more than any other QBs in the league. We've scored 10 points or less in 4 games since 2017, Trey led us to two of them.

regardless of if you like Trey or not, he's not been ready to run the offense the way we need it. He needed last seasons experience and that went away when he was injured. Doesn't mean he can't become a good qb, he's just far away because of his lack of experience - and I think he needs a good two seasons.

You got all of that from 4 games?

Who cares. Defense hasn't won a Championship since Seattle. LOL.

Broncos in 2015 and Patriots in 2018, actually. But point taken.

Haha.

I would go Tampa and the rams too.

It's just my opinion but based on his play, the way the team played him, and the way they decided to not even let him compete for QB1 but for QB2/3. Only reason he even has a remote shot at QB1 is because Purdy is injured. Also yesterday (maybe two days ago) lynch said they're very convicted in Purdy.

im not anti Trey, I'm not confident in him, but when he started - it was some of the lowest scoring games we've had in the last 6 years. He came into the league super raw.

so I don't think it's a stretch to say he needs more development if he wants to play at the level Jimmy/Purdy did. He really need in game experience, and I think a lot of it, for us to find out what he ultimately is.

let's not turn this into a Trey debate. Lol we can do that in the Trey thread. I'm just saying he's still very raw.

The 2012 team and the Super Bowl appearance drought between that season and 1994 really have nothing to do with Shanahan's regime.

When he and Lynch took over we had one of the worst rosters in the NFL and were in the Super Bowl by their 3rd full season with arguably the best overall roster in the NFL. We've had one of the best rosters in the league in each of the seasons since, and will again this coming season. This is an example of extremely successful asset management overall.

It's completely outrageous how good the Eagles did in the draft.
